Milton E. Steiner, born May 30, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 12, 2010.
Milt and his wife Nita (deceased) lived in Sequim, Wash. He was the son of the late Elmer and Mary Steiner of St. Augustine.
He had three sisters: Mary E. Saffelder, St. Augustine (deceased); Virginia Conditt, Orlando (deceased); and Janet Hay (Jerry), St. Augustine.
He had five brothers: Donny Steiner, Cincinnati, Ohio, (deceased); George Steiner (Melinda), Columbia, S.C.; John Steiner (Carol), St. Augustine; Ed Steiner (Faiza), Orlando, Fla.; and David Steiner (Irene), Columbia, S.C.
He had two daughters: Linda Kersey, Pueblo, Colo., (deceased); and Nancy Schade (Bill), Sequim, Wash. He had one son, Jim Steiner (Desiree), Lake City, Fla.; and two stepsons, Doug Reeser (Audrea), Joplin, Mo., and Todd Reeser (Kris), Peoria, Ariz. He also had 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Prior to Milt moving to St. Augustine in 1956, he served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a highly decorated soldier. On March 1, 1961, he left St. Augustine to go to work for Choice Hotels, known then as Quality Courts Motel, Inc. In September 2010, he retired from Choice Hotels International after 39 years.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Craig's Funeral Home, St. Augustine. No flowers please, you may donate to The American Cancer Society.
