Norma Morris Obituary

Norma Jean Morris, age 67, of St. Augustine, passed away on Nov. 4, 2014, at Tampa General Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Sylacauga, Ala., Norma moved to Jacksonville, Fla., at a young age. When she became a high school senior, her family relocated to St. Augustine, where she graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1965. At the age of 19, Norma married Gerald Morris. She worked at Leonards Studio for many years before becoming employed at Whetstone Chocolates for nearly 20 years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved teaching Children's Church and Sunday school for many years, and enjoyed singing in church and writing poems. Norma attended both Bethel Tabernacle and Pentecostal Fellowship Center Church. Most of all, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, sister and aunt, and a wonderful Nana.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gerald Morris; a son, Wayne Morris, and his wife, Marilyn; sisters, Linda Morris, and her husband, Lamar, Faith Caudill, and her husband, Herman, and Tina R. Crews, and her husband, Patrick; brothers, David F. Marchalleck, Jr., and his wife, Brenda, and Chris H. Marchalleck, and his wife, Candy; granddaughter, Natalie Lynn Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of St. Augustine.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, with Brother Joe Foster and Sister Lois Turner, officiating.
Interment will follow at Craig Memorial Park in St. Augustine. A visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

We at Whetstone Chocolates will miss Norma for a long time to come. Her sweet humble friendly smile always greeted us anytime we saw her. When we think of Whetstone's fudge, we think of Norma for she made many, many pans of it for many, many years. She gave her all in anything she did. I was always amazed at how poems flowed out of her like water out of a faucet. She was truly a talented lady. I look forward to seeing you again my friend. You have made quite an impact on this world in your humble way. Love you, Lola

Norma was a lot of things to a lot of people and is missed by many. Every time we were together she would tell me how much she loved me. I cherish that memory. One attribute that stands out from the rest was how sincere she was about her relationship with God. Her testimony is her legacy. Enjoy heaven, Norma, you believed and received!

Norma will be greatly missed! She was a wonderful sister and sister in law. We shared alot together over the years. We know she is shouting on the golden streets of our heavenly home right now, rejoicing in the presence of our Heavely Father. One day we will be reunited and share in more great times for all eternity with Jesus, our Saviour. We earnestly love you Norma. We will cherish our memories and and good times we had over the years. Much love.

My Aunt Norma brought so much laughter to our family. She always had a funny joke or great stories to share! She was a giver as well. I know Aunt Norma is with The Lord & eating at His banqueting table now. She is deeply missed & loved.
