Norma Clarke Poli

Norma Clarke Poli passed away peacefully on March 12, 2018 at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida Bailey Center. A lifelong resident of St. Augustine, she was born on July 14, 1920. She was the wife of the late Dominic J. Poli and daughter of the late I. L. Clarke and Helen Zim Clarke.
Norma graduated from St. Joseph Academy and attended Weslyn College in Macon, Georgia. Sh was a founding member of the Camelia Garden Club and served as its first president. Norma was also an active member of the Mariah Jefferson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution serving as Chapter Regent and encouraging participation in the youth program, the Children of the American Revolution.
Norma was devoted to the Cathedral Basilica Parish of St. Augustine serving in many ways including St. Patrick's Circle Altar Guild and as a Eucharistic Minister. She taught many parishioners the art of palm braiding for the Palm Sunday services each year.
Norma made sure that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all knew her love and true interest in their lives. This includes children: Darrell Poli (Joanna), Jean DeMello (Jesse) and Carolyn Gorga. Grandchildren: Benjamin Poli, Anthony Poli (Cara) Charles DeMello (Mary), David DeMello (Jill), Jessica Jones (Will), Caroline Gorga and Matthew Gorga. In addition six great grandchildren felt her warm embrace.
Visitation will be held at Craig Funeral Home Friday March 16, 2018 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with prayers services at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
