Patsy Lee Johnson, 65, of Palatka, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center after a courageous 34-year battle with cancer.
She was a native of Ft. Pierce and had lived in Palatka for the past 47 years, coming from Hastings. She was a member of Christ Independent Methodist Church and a homemaker. "Miss Pat," as she was known, worked at Tractor Supply for seven years, until declining health forced her to retire. She was active with FFA at Palatka High School for many years and loved fishing and gardening. She had also been a member of the Planning and Zoning Board and the Taxpayers League for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Johnson; her parents, Clarice and Energy Crews; her father, Ed Lee; sister, Ellen Owen; brother, Jack Lee; and a niece, Julia Kay Lee.
She is survived by a son, Cary Johnson and wife Sherri of Palatka; sister, Frances Nell Moore of Cottonwood, Ala.; four brothers, Meek Lee and wife Fran of Palatka, Billy Lee and wife Maureen of St. Augustine, Tommy Lee and wife Sharon of Hastings, and Joe Lee amd wife Pam of Satsuma; two grandchildren, Cole Johnson and Tucker Johnson, both of Palatka; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Lee of East Palatka and Candace Smithey amd husband Van of Jacksonville; many special nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews, whom she loved dearly, along with many special neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the Christ Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palatka. In celebration of her life, a memorial video will be shown.
