RIP Dan, I'll never forget our friendship and the many times we played cards together at Mt. Fuji, Japan. Or our boxing match, I thought I was doing pretty good until you hit me.. That was the last time I ever put on boxing gloves. You should have told me about your Karate stuff, I would not have picked you to box. I will miss you the rest of my days. Love always your smile and nice personality.

Dan, I just want to express what a pleasure it was knowing you. Your humor, kind heart, dedication, and caring attitude made working with you a pleasure. You were a great co-worker, father, and friend. I will miss our talks about family, military service, and concerts at the Fraze Pavillion. Like all you co-workers and friends at Bethesda, I will miss you dearly.

To everyone in Dan's family, we are so deeply sorry for your loss. We only knew Dan through Tyler, and the wonderful young man that he is. We think of Tyler as a fourth son in our family, and we are grieving with him and with all of you. May God be very close to each of you at this difficult time, and remain with you in all the years that follow.

Dan, friends for forever, no matter how far apart we are. I'll always cherish the memories of our military years and your great smile. You will be missed by many, but I'm sure we'll see you in your dress blues guarding the gate when we get there. Semper Fi

Dan, You always took the time to explain why to me in the Cath lab, even when you were crazy busy. I learned a lot from you that you probably never realized, just wanted to tell you thank you. Ty, the last day I worked with your dad he had your basketball picture up telling me all about your season, he was SO very PROUD. I wanted to make sure you knew that. I hope all of you find peace.

Dan

Working with you at the Clayton Fire Department was always a challenge for me. A challenge to keep up with your accelerated energy level that you seemed to call upon at your will.

Thank you for your all out efforts as a firefighter. You made a huge diference in the lives of your fellow workers.

Dan Nicewarner passes away? This is a few days after a guy you didn't know but also a St. Charles Firefighter, Doug Haase, passes.

We'd always wonder if Dan ever shaved! He would say he did on Saturdays - even if he didn't have to! Dan was so fast out of the bunk in the firehouse at night. He'd streak across the floor at the engine house at 6th and Clark enroute to the pole long before the blankets ever left the rest of us. So he earned the nickname "FLASH".

Dan was a great guy and was enjoyed by all at the SCFD! Another shocker.

Dan,
I never met you but I know you through your son who shares your name. You did a great job with that one and I believe that what he feels in his heart right now, both the pain and the pride, is due to the strong presence you had, and will continue to have, in his life.
You and your family are in my prayers.

Dad, I didn't know where to write this, but I feel here is a start. I never, ever stopped looking up to you and being proud of your every step. The lengths you went to make sure you were a there for Tyler made me proud to know that I am who I am because of you. I can never understand this crazy thing we call life and why people exit it before they should, but I do understand that every second that you had I treasured. Even though you won't be there physically, your spirit and heart will carry on to our child, who will always know the amazing person forever known as "grandpa." I love you. I miss you. I will keep living my life for you, as I always have. Hopefully I can impact one life the way you've impacted many. I will always remember you and carry on our shared name with dignity and respect. You are not gone, Dad. As long as we carry you in our hearts you will be here with us. Rest in peace.
