As a SCW Grad from 2008, it is impossible to forget who you were before you graduated and after. As another grad who served, and now at Al Asad as well, it is still impossible to forget the impact you have had on everyones lives - here and at home.

Drew,
Another 4th of July is at hand and it will be a holiday to celebrate our independence from tyranny here and abroad.

Your life, your sacrifice matters. When the Heavens open up and the rain falls on our faces, may we all remember that our time on Earth is precious...like the rain that mixes with our tears and heals our hearts.

We will see you someday. Say hi to my brother Andy who passed from this world at 19 with dreams of becoming a cowboy. Hugs in Heaven.

FB friends. I am at Twin Rivers Landing on the Black River in Lesterville, Mo. We just found a silver bracelet in the river that says "Never forgotten, Drew Weaver, KIA, Iraq, 2008, USMC". I want this precious momento to get to the rightful owner. Please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! I'm keeping it with me until it can be sent. You can't see the wording in a pic.

Drew, I see your beautiful photo and my heart aches for those you left behind. My son is home and yet part of him remains overseas, closed off and distant from us.

I can write you and tell you how much you are loved and appreciated...I miss telling my son these things. The war rages on in my Marine. I believe in my heart that you are at peace.

I'm honored to say THANK YOU to you and your family. All gave some, some gave all. God Bless the USMC.

I will never forget Drew for being a great Marine. He was one of my mentors and became a good friend of mine during that deployment of 2007-2008. I thank him and you for being strong and helping us who still fight to protect one another against those who oppose us and I educate my Marines about his story and how important it is to fight hard even if it's the last breath they may ever take to spare another. May he forever rest in peace. We will always fight hard in his honor.

To Drew's parents,
My name is Lea Walker. I never knew Drew, but I knew of him. When I was in 8th Grade at Hardin Middle School in St. Charles, I wrote a poem about Drew that was sent from my history teacher, Tina Queen, to Diane. I wanted to let you know that even now, as I end my Junior year at St. Charles High School, I still think of Drew and what he did for his country. Drew will never be forgotten. God Bless You All.

Dear Weaver Family,
I ordered a POW/KIA bracelet about a month and a half ago that has Drew's name engraved on it. After looking up his name and reading about your loss I felt the need to let you know that even though I had no connection with Drew I feel honored to wear this bracelet with his name on it. Everyday I am reminded of his sacrifice and dedication to our country, for that I am truly grateful. May God Bless Y'all.

I love and miss you...i wish there was more that i could say but i look in your face everyday and i know that your looking back at me...and its enough to know that til I'm done with my days that you'll be by my side, and then we will be together in a forever resting place, sanctioned by god, and looked up to those who love us...until that day, I'll think about you and live the way that you'd want me to...even though it might be a little crazy at times we wouldn't have it any other way, i love you and i'll see you soon

Hey cuz,
My friend that I work with found this website and here I am. I miss you so much. I was hanging out with your friends at my house the other night and I couldn't help but think that this isn't fair because you should have been there with us. I would give anything to have you back. I finally moved out and I was excited for the summer because you would have been back and I wanted you to come over and party and hang out. Gosh I just wish you could have made it back. Its just not fair and its so hard to deal with the fact that you're really gone. Just by reading all of these posts Its awesome to see how much everyone loved you so much. I am so proud of you. I think back to the day and my heart breaks. I hope that when you left us it was painless and I know that God was with you. I love you and I miss and think about you every single day. Please watch over us. I've been reading a book about people that have passed and they send you little signs from heaven. I need a sign from you cuz I need to know that you are ok. Love you so much!

To Drew's family,
Know that your son will never be forgotten. The highest calling is to lay down your life for a friend. With Drew, his countrymen and countrywomen were all his friends and he paid for that with his life.

Our son is a new Marine. He feels very strongly that he "belongs" in those places far away where freedom is threatened and wants to be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. Please take comfort in knowing that there are young men and women ready, willing and very capable of stepping up and carrying on where your son left off.

Hey Drew~

Well, it's been 5 months since God called you home. Everyday is still so painful living without you.

We had your 21st birthday party at the lake, as usual. So many of your friends were there...you would have been so proud. Jeff and Tyler blew out the candles on your cake, and we let balloons go, and had plenty of Coronas. You would have been right there in the middle of all the craziness. I know you were there in spirit.

I miss you and love you so much. I guess I just wanted to say Happy Birthday, again, and let everyone know we are okay...just sad without you.

I want to thank all your friends (especially your marine brothers) for their support in our time of sorrow. They are suffering, too, without you. They are a part of our family now and always will be. You truly had some good friends. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has left condolences for us. It's comforting to know he was loved by so many, and appreciated by so many that didn't even know him.

I love you, Drew, with all my heart.

Hours prior to Your deployment, I enetertained a few of Your fellow Marines at a L. A. County honky tonk. I never even got their names but I did get pics. I always cringe thinking that I might find their pics on the KIA site. While looking, I found Yours.

As a former 29 Palms Marine, as well as the original LAV Infantry Platoon Commander (CoA1stLAVB-we were the first ever in the Corps), it took me a while to leave this.

But then, it is never easy for me regarding the loss of any.
