Greg was a true friend..we worked together 16 years. Greg at Sports Network and i at the Journal Newspapers. Greg even taught me where to find a good steak lunch for $5 at Thurmer´s Tavern on Cherokee St. I miss Greg like everyone else.

Like family loved ones I miss Greg and the moments we shared at the Journals. Like a12 mile hike in a blinding snow storm in event of the Century. Sports banter any time day or night. RIP my work partner day or night.

As a year has gone by, I still think and talk about Greg often. Just yesterday his name came up at a lunch in a look back at the Journals. This would have been Greg's really 'busy' season. The Cardinals stretching for the playoffs; the Blues soon opening training camp; Mizzou launching its season--so much activity on the local sports scene. I was really lucky to have Greg as my first real career boss and I learned so much from him. Great people pass on in life, but for the surviving friends and family, the memories never really fade or stop hurting. Greg, buddy, we all miss you dearly.

Greg took a chance on me, a 19 year old kid, and hired me to be his secretary, (to replace Helen) and also be the first female employee of the fairly new SNI Sports Network. I worked for Greg for about six years, (1988-1994/95), and he was so very good to me. I really “grew up” during this time, I learned so much, had amazing experiences, and met some great people. I will always remember Greg for the opportunities I had there and for the person he was. To his family, you will be in the my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you.

Greg was my first boss and we worked hand and glove to produce the best prep coverage in the Metro area. We literally co-produced area-wide high school sports coverage, putting the Suburban Journals on the map.

Greg went upwards and onward to do great things in sports radio and TV. He even owned the rights and produced the University of Colorado football.

Greg was a star athlete first at Webster Groves High School, then a centerfielder at Washington University in St. Louis.

Rest in peace Greg and a high five and a fist bump for a job very well done.

I first met Greg very early in my career (1980-ish) when I worked for the Missouri Valley Conference. It was his vision, and he was responsible for the beginning/development of the MVC basketball television network. I remember Greg as one of the very best at finding a way to get things done and as a devoted family man. He was a special person.
