Delany, Michael J.
Michael J. Delany, 93, formerly of St. Louis, passed away peacefully on Mar. 5, 2020 in Rockford, IL. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Colleen (Lane), six children, twelve grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews in the St. Louis area. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Bridget (Lydon), and his sisters, Mary Frances Fritz, and Teresa Schneider, of St. Louis.
Services: Visitation on Mar. 9, 5 - 7 p.m., at Fitzgerald's Funeral Home in Rockford, IL, and on Mar. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford, with Mass at 11 a.m.

I am so sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I pray that God will comfort his family in their time of need. I knew Michael when he was at Atwood Mobile Products as I had worked there also from July 1974 to December 2014. I honor his time in the navy in World War II in the Pacific theatre. My dad served in the Army Airborne in the ground crew for the B17's in England during the World War II. May God greatly comfort Michael's family and God may bless them all.

We continue to benefit from a Delany legacy at 1979 and are truly saddened by your loss. Words have little meaning at such times but the adage to keep marchin' always comes to mind as the only resort. Special good wishes to you and all your family.

My condolences to the entire Delany family. Mr Delaney was a constant in my life growing up in the Harlem Blvd neighborhood. He has left quite legacy that will continue to grow.

Dear Colleen and family,
Mary and I grieve with you all over Mike's death. We shared so many memories that we don't have room for all the warm and crazy and ups and downs of our two family's journeys. We are in Florida and unable to be there with all of Delanys. If heaven needs any tightening up, Mike will get it fixed before I make my application. Sending love and prayers.
