I hope you're dancing in the sky. I cherish our memories together. All the walks in the park and valuable life lessons. Love you Grandpa.

Mr. Pfefferkorn was instrumental in my wanting to become a teacher. He had a passion for his subject and cared about his students and where they were personally in the learning and growing process. He encouraged me to follow my interest in numismatics and we started a coin club my senior year. I was 1038J in the Missouri Numismatic association and I traded tokens with him there just a few months before his passing. His teaching inspired not only my career but many of my personal interests, 34 years after I graduated from Cleveland High School. I appreciate every day his influences on my life. Andy Throm '84

Mr. Pfefferkorn was a very good teacher at Cleveland High School. I had him for Social Studies my sophomore year. His class was always fun and made it interesting to learn. So sorry about your loss and my sympathy goes to his whole family.

My sympathies to his whole family. He was a nice and wonderful teacher (had him my freshman year, 1972/73).

Not only an outstanding teacher, but Mike was a dear friend who enjoyed dinners out.
Greatly missed he is ... and his conversations also.
Mike Pfefferkorn on far right.

Mike and I have been friends and sometimes competitors since the late 1960's. He was an active member and officer of the Missouri Numismatic Society and the World Coin Club of Missouri, as well as other local and national organizations. He was the co-author of the standard book on United States sales tax tokens, and author of an important article on St. Louis public school lunch tokens. He was the founder in 1976 and long time editor of the Missouri Journal of Numismatics. He will be missed. -- Bruce W. Smith

Mr. Pfefferkorn was an inspiring teacher, not just about history but about life and learning itself.

Mr. Pfefferkorn was an excellent teacher. He inspired students to do their best. He showed us how to take what we learned to the next step, beyond the assignment, and use the information. He encouraged me even when he knew I was in a place where I wasn't ready to learn and I'm glad I was able to thank him for that.

What a privilege it has been to grow up knowing Mike. He and Sandy are more like family than friends. He will be missed. Godspeed, Mike.
