Paul Fuchs Obituary

Fuchs, Paul Joseph 69, died at 11:39 a.m. Tues., Apr. 3, 2007 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born Dec. 30, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to the late Raymond F. and Odille Fuchs. He was the owner and operator of the La Barge-Harkness & Co. in Alton. On Mar. 3, 1962, he and Bernadine Newnom were married in Alton and they had five beautiful daughters. Bernadine preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1987. He then married Susan Kienstra on June 16, 1990 in St. Louis, MO. She survives of Alton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Anne & Gene Hoylman of Smithton, IL, Jeanne & Sikiru Olubogun of St. Louis, MO, Gabrielle & Rusty Overturf of Springfield, IL, Cathy & Val Periandri of Troy, IL and Genevieve & Todd Missel of Chatham, IL; 11 grandchildren, Collin, Taylor, Garrett (Andrea) & Ryan Hoylman, Mary & Paul Olubogun, Abby, Sam & Ike Overturf, Erica & Megan Periandri and Hannah & Kathryn Missel; 1 sister, Carol Haberkern of St. Louis, MO and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward & Carol of Arnold, MO. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.Services:Visitation will be Sun. from 4 to 8 p.m. at GENT Funeral Home, 2409 State St., Alton, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.. Mon., at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Roger Schoehofen as celebrant. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or St. Vincent DePaul Society at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Online information and guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.

Dear Anne & Family,

I remember your mom and dad as such sweet and devoted parents. Some of my best childhood memories are associated with Girl Scouts with your family in DeSoto.
