Rick Miller Obituary

Rick Miller
LaGrange, IN - Rick A. Miller, 62, of LaGrange, IN passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family June 20, 2021. Rick was born January 17, 1959, in LaGrange to Mervin E. and Lola M. (Dunlap) Miller. He was quiet and kind with a sense of humor that caught others by surprise. Living all his life in LaGrange, he graduated from Lakeland High School in 1977. Rick was a member and Past Master of the Meridian Sun Lodge #76 F. & A.M., and also was a member of the Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne, Mizpah Shrine, LaGrange County Shrine Club, and Sons of the American Legion Post #215 in LaGrange. He attended LaGrange First Church of God where he beautifully decorated for the seasons, built props and sets for special services and programs and maintained the lawn for many years. On May 19, 1990, he married Kathleen S. (Noll) Miller in LaGrange, IN; she survives in LaGrange, IN. Rick and Kathi were blessed with one son and daughter-in-law Ben and Kendra (Vose) Miller of LaGrange, and the lights of his life, his 3 grandchildren McKinley, Hayden and Jackson Miller who dearly loved their Papa. Also surviving are his father, Mervin Miller of LaGrange, one brother and sister-in-law, Chuck Miller and Lisa Harrington of Seattle, WA, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. His mother, Lola Miller preceded him in death. Rick worked for Sealed Power in LaGrange as well as the RV industry for many years, most recently at Forest River in Middlebury. Rick enjoyed watching almost any sporting event, hunting and eating mushrooms, watching and feeding the birds, working in the yard, attending auctions, camping and even shopping with Kathi. There was almost nothing Kathi could think up that Rick couldn't figure out how to create and he enjoyed that challenge. Prior to his illness, he was constantly in motion quietly taking care of his family and others. His love language to all was serving them. There was nothing Rick wouldn't do if there was a need. A visitation will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 4-8 pm at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, IN. A masonic service will take place to end the visitation on Friday at 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 10:30 am at LaGrange First Church of God, 777 N. Detroit St., LaGrange, IN. Rev. Ben Stuckey will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN. Memorials may be made to either Meridian Sun Lodge #76 F. & A.M., 2645 E 585 S, Wolcottville, IN 46795 or LaGrange First Church of God, 777 N. Detroit St., LaGrange, IN 46761.
