To the family of Connie Cole: The years go by, but the life Connie lived still shines bright in the lives of all those she touched. Of all the teachers I was blessed with through all the years of school and college, she was by far the most beautiful inside as well as outside, the most loving, kindest, sincerest, giving person that I had the privilege to know. Connie loved all of you so much...she spoke of you so often and we all could see the love and pride in her eyes. God bless you all. Lee Ann Burrus, Class of 1978.

I pray that they have grieved your loss and those tears are now smiles of all the wonderful memories you made with them. I have so many wonderful memories of you. I remember how over the moon with joy you were when you found out you were going to be a mom!!! So many great memories that always bring a smile to my face. God bless your family. I just learned of Mrs Cole's passing this summer while visiting from Fl. I am so sorry for her family's great loss. What a wonderful teacher, person, friend! I regret all the times after graduation that I passed her home and was too shy to stop and see her. I was privileged enough to have Mrs Cole for sophomore and senior English. She was there to lend an ear and be a friend during some very difficult times. She also stepped up and intervened w/getting my classes changed. She was such an inspiration! She instilled confidence in her students. Mrs Cole will forever hold a special place in my heart. Lee Ann Burrus, class of 1978.

Mrs. Cole was one of Long Beach's best teachers ever. She really worked hard at her job. She made it all appear effortless and fun. She had a gift for connecting with her students on a personal level and loved telling us stories about her life experiences. I remember how she went way out of her way to make our senior English class of 96 feel special because she knew our senior year would bring so many special moments. I feel really blessed that God wove her into my life. My prayers will be lifted for her family.

I was so sad to hear of Connie's loss. My deepest condolences to all the family. She was one of my all time favorite teachers, a devoted parishioner of my families church of St. Thomas, and a friend to all she met. Whenever I would return to Long Beach to visit family and go their church, she would always have the most genuine, loving welcome. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
