Gavin Scott Richmond, passed away on Sunday, 26-May-2013, in Baker La. Born & raised in Biloxi Ms, the Coast was never far from his heart. Gavin graduated from Biloxi High and MGCCC. He attended LSU and the University of Southern Miss. He is preceded in death by his sister Allison Clare Richmond and his step brother Jeffrey Miller. He is survived by his Mother, Dianne Record, Bruce Record (Stepfather), Scott B. Richmond (Father), Libby Richmond (Stepmother), Doris Richmond (Grandmother), & Jennifer Banks (Beloved Friend). We will mourn his passing and he will be dearly missed by all those close to him.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 1PM with visitation starting at 12PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home on Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi Ms. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gavin's name to a charity of your choice.

Just had a fond memory of my friendship with Gavin and decided to Google him. So very sorry he left too soon. We had a lovely friendship and laughed often. I have many great memories thanks to his presence. He was a lovely boy.

Ms. & Mr. Record and Mr. & Ms. Richmond,

I am so sorry for your loss. Gavin and I were best friends at Fernwood, Bilxi High, and in college. Since then we drifted apart. Gavin and I used to eat lunch in the court yard at Fernwood Middle School everyday. We were in AP Biology class together in high school. I remember coming by the hotel often to hang out or stop by before we would go play hide and seek at Thrower Park at night. Gavin left too soon and I regret not keeping touch with him. There isn't a memory I have about middle school, high school, or college which doesn't include Gavin. I will miss him!

I am so sorry to hear this tragic news. Growing up best friends with his sister Allison, Gavin made an impression on us at an early age. He was always willing to take us to the movies, play arcade games with us, tell us about the latest book he had read, or just spend time with us. Gavin's mind was brilliant and his kind spirit will not be forgotten. I know Allison is taking good care of him already. My heart aches for Ms. Diane, Mr. Bruce, Mr. Scott and Ms. Libby. May you all find peace and comfort.

Lynn and I have been looking at family pictures of Gavin, Allison, and other grandchildren these past few days remembering the joy and laughter shared by them in their youth. The normal progression of life has made adults of them and the rest of us have grown older. What is not normal is for our children to precede us into God's hands. I don't understand why this happens and know that I'm not supposed to know at this time. The Lord will reveal this to us in time. This does not diminish the heartache and pain we suffer for the loss of Gavin. We so much want to take away some of Dianne's pain, but we know she will always carry this with her. Our love, thoughts, and prayers go out to Dianne, Bruce, and Jennifer Banks, his partner.

The Lord wanted Gavin in His presence more than He wanted him to remain here with us. It is difficult for us to understand why, and at the same time it is not for us to question why, but to accept in faith, that the Lord knows what is best in all situations.
In the fullness of time the Lord will tell us the answers we desperately now seek; however for now, our faith must remain strong.
