Henry Beard Obituary
Henry "Hank" E. Beard
August 9, 1956 - August 10, 2024
Gulfport, Mississippi - On August 10, 2024, Henry Ellsworth Beard, Jr. (Hank) departed his Earthly home to be with his Heavenly Father one day after his sixty-eighth birthday. Hank was a Christian who loved the Lord and was confident in his belief he would be by his side when the time came.
He attended West Ward Elementary, West Jr High School, and the "real" Gulfport High School (Commodores). After graduation he lived with his brother Lyndon for a few years. They had many adventures. Hank worked a few years in Gulfport before moving to Dallas, Texas. From Dallas, Hank moved to the Fairfax, Virginia area where he worked for a newspaper in the Silver Springs, Maryland area. When the paper was sold, Hank returned to Gulfport eventually working for Casino Magic in Bay St Louis as a Surveillance manager. When asked to take a temporary assignment to Argentina, he jumped at the chance. Returning from Argentina after six months, he was given the opportunity to be a Surveillance Director for Casino Magic, helping open the casino in Shreveport, Louisiana. After a couple years in Shreveport, he asked to return to Argentina. He accepted a job as Food & Beverage Director for Neuquen Province and San Martin de los Andes. The family, especially his mother, was thankful he had such good friends, Michael Risley (may he Rest in Peace) and Carlos Napoli to watch over him. After eighteen years in Argentina, Hank returned home to spend as many years as possible with his mother, whom he dearly loved, in her later years. Hank eventually moved to Saucier to be near family until his passing years later.
Hank was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lloa (Price) and Henry E Beard Sr. He was also preceded by his infant nephew Brandon Broadus and his ex-brother-in-law (but still family) Jackie Broadus of Saucier, MS.
Hank is survived by his brothers, Herman Steely Beard, Lyndon Wayne Beard (Sharon) and Steven M Beard and sisters Lloa Maria Nichols and Carmen LaNell Curtis (Rodney) of Saucier, and Sylvia Charlene Boone (Ricky). He is survived by cousins, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews all of whom held a place in his heart.
The brothers and sister, Charlene, wish to extend sincere thanks to the amazing care given Hank in his final days by his sisters, Maria and Carmen. There could be no better care given anywhere! Surely there is a special place in Heaven for caring people such as those two.
Per Hank's wishes there will be no public services. The family wishes to thank all of Hank's friends that expressed their condolences and sympathies to the family during this sad time.
