Pascagoula
Joseph Roger Callahan, 72, of Pascagoula died suddenly August 17, 2015 at Singing River Hospital.
Mr. Callahan was born August 26, 1942 in Water Valley, MS to Joseph E. Callahan and Louise Knapp Callahan Dees. He attended St. Martin High School. He served in the United States Marines. Mr. Callahan retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years. He loved to work on anything and was considered a jack of all trades. His hobbies included pottery, prepping for dinners and gardening. He was a member of Arlington Heights Baptist Church.
Mr. Callahan was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ruben "Danny" Callahan; one daughter, Amanda Nicole Callahan; and one sister, JoAnn Poole. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Venus H. Callahan of Pascagoula; his John Deere Tractor; one daughter, Regina J. Callahan of Pascagoula; two sons, Joey A. Callahan and Shane P. Callahan both of Pascagoula; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; two brothers, James Callahan and his wife Joan of Birmingham, AL and Willie Callahan of Franklin Creek; three sisters, Dorothy Dees of Pascagoula; Mattie Rice and her husband Charlie of Canton, MS; and Betty Hendricks of Biloxi; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 7:00 pm from Arlington Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Wilkinson, Rev. Ben Carlisle and Rev. Larry Darden officiating.

Joe will truly be missed. He was a kind, caring man, who truly thought about others. He was always buying food to give to others. He loved and adored you Venus. He would talk about you every time he came into Four Seasons Produce. He always joked about how you made certain that he did what he was supposed to even when he did not want to.

I haven't seen Joe for a lot of years, I saw him a lot when both of us went to St.Martin. My wife (Bonnie Oliver) and I knew him and his brothers & sisters for years. Our condolences to his family. May God bless you all. Jimmy and Bonnie Williams, Wiggins
