Lisa Glee Obituary
Lisa Eloise Glee was born August 22, 1967, in Gulfport, MS, to the late Georgia R. Smith and Willie Lofton. The late Robert and Jannie Ferrill raised her. She departed this life on Saturday, June 10, 2006.
Lisa joined the St. James Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Joseph Simpson. She faithfully served in the church as a choir member, BTU and youth department leader. She later joined the Bible Way Baptist Church under Pastor Othell Adkins. After Hurricane Katrina, she relocated to Cary, N.C., where she joined the White Oak Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles Tyner. She was a member of the C.R. Tyner Choir and Sunday School.
Lisa was a 1985 graduate of Gulfport High School. She was employed by Cost Cutters in Gulfport and Gulf Coast Medical Center in Biloxi. While in North Carolina, she was employed with the Department of Commerce.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, adopted parents, the late Robert and Jannie Ferrill, one sister, Gail Anderson, adopted sister, Kathy Ferrill, one brother, Leonard Expose, a nephew, Antonio Ross and together in death with her daughter, Shayla Glee.
Lisa's love and memories will be sweetly cherished by her precious daughter, Shanna Glee; two brothers, Oscar Harris of Drew, MS and Willie Smith of Gulfport, MS; three adopted brothers, Toney Ferrill of Gulfport, MS, Wayne (Kim) Ferrill of Orlando, FL and Glenn (Scherry) Ferrill of Tickfall, LA; one sister, Julia (Albert) Smith MS and one adopted sister, Conzuella Ann Ferrill-Williams both of Gulfport, MS; two god-daughters, Krystyn and Devin Gist of Gulfport, MS and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins family and friends.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the Little Rock Baptist Church in Gulfport with services to follow at noon. Burial will be at Monroe Memorial Park, Canal Road, Gulfport. Services entrusted to Hartwell's Christian Mortuary Inc. in Gulfport.

I met Lisa in 1991 we were stationed together in Rota Spain...we were Navy wives. My husband was a CT and hers was a SeaBee...even back then Lisa was beautiful and funny...we lost touch after I left in 1993...I am sorry to hear of your loss she was such a a wonderful person.

To my mom, I grew up to be a young woman that I hope you can be proud of, full of life. I went to school graduated and became an Environmental Scientist. Yes, I still struggle and I miss you and Shayla every day. You don't know the things I have faced. But I have a daughter and she is so much like Shayla. She asks a million and one questions and sometimes it's hard. I don't know how you did it raising two girls on your own. I admire you so much and hope to be half of the woman people described you as in the comments. And to everyone else. I just heard and am deeply saddened by the loss of you. Lisa had the best attitude as I assisted her in job searches. Lisa your are truly missed in my heart. It's October 19th and I call your cellphone to tell you that the girls and I were coming to visit for thanksgiving. When someone answers the phone that I thought was you;I hear that you and Shayla was gone on to be with our father. Girl I miss you,and I get no C'ya laters.I been calling and calling and wondering why you wasn't answering my calls. Well I guess I know why... you and Shayla's been busy working in heaven and getting to know the other angels. I know they love you just as much as we do. Girl we've encourage each other so much in the lord so there's no doubt that your with him...No matter how much we've wanted to give up god kept us close to minister to each other. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Lisa and her beautiful baby. The last time I saw them was when Lisa brought the girls to VBS at my home church. I know they are sitting at the feet of our Almighty Father, enjoying the many wonders of heaven; and though that beautiful image does not make my heart any lighter it brings me great joy to know that one day I will join them in Heaven. I reminise of days when Lisa and I would "walk"from Avondale Circle when she lived with Julia(Cookie) to our friend Gails house ,then we'd all three walk back to Avondale just to hang out, be silly ,and enjoy each others company on a daily basis. If I could turn back time... I was so happy to see the wonderful adult and devoted mom that Lisa grew to be,always adoring those girls and teaching them to be good people. Time and prayer really does wonders,especially the latter. Satan causes pain in order to shake our faith. God allows it,as training to endure as he provided examples of suffering in Job and Jesus. There IS a reward at the end if we endure...God promised. I pray for all of us that loved Lisa. We will miss her and her infectious smile.

Lisa was "THE ONE"! We'd grown up through school years, shared life's drama, and became women together. She was a great mother and friend; she will be truly missed.
