Sally Kiesling Obituary

Sally Ann Kiesling

1947-2015

Ocean Springs

Sally Ann Kiesling, a vivacious woman who lived her life Forever In Blue Jeans, died in her home in the presence of her family on February 18, 2015 in Ocean Springs, MS. She was 67 years old when she left this world to join her mother in heaven.

Sally was born on October 11, 1947 in Lorain, OH to her parents, Tony and Dorothy Rich. She graduated from Mount Union College with a degree in Education in 1969. After marrying Charles ("Charmless" as only SHE was allowed to lovingly call him) Kiesling in 1975, the couple moved to Ocean Springs where they worked for and co-owned Kiesling Dental Lab. Both were recently semi-retired and dedicated their time to doing whatever the Hell they wanted and that's as it should be.

Sally was a patient and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother in law and daughter with a passion for life, the music of Neil Diamond, the novels of Stephen King and frequent visits to New Orleans with "Charmless" to pay homage to her precious New Orleans Saints. Both were treated like royalty when they were guests at the Le Richelieu Hotel and made it their mission to continue their reign there at least every six weeks. She was active with the Ocean Springs Elks Lodge #2501 where she was crowned Queen Charity of the Mardi Gras Ball in 1992. While most of us recoil in horror at the mere mention of the word, Monday, Sally greeted it with open arms because it was always the night she would enjoy live music at "The Lodge."

Along with virtually everyone else residing on planet Earth, Sally discovered The Beatles in 1964 when they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. When it was announced the The Fab Four would be performing in Cleveland, she was a teenager obsessed and begged her father to promise to drive her into town for tickets. Unfortunately for him, the day Sally chose to cash in on that promise was the morning after a late night of Poker Dad played with his friends. When they arrived at the ticket box office, Sally jumped out of the car, ran across the street and fell flat on her face. Without skipping a beat, she jumped up, waved and said, "See ya later, Dad!" She had a Ticket To Ride and she didn't care.

If you were a friend of Sally's, you knew it and she never let you forget it. If you met her, you couldn't help but to love her and if she loved you in return it was unconditional. There are simply too many names of friends to mention, but there's no doubt each and every one of you knows who you are.

Sally is survived by her husband Charles; her son, Dale (Rachael); her daughter Jenny (B.J.); her father Tony (Daisy) and two grandchildren, Joe and Jaxon. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy.

For their exceptional care of Sally, the family would like to thank Dr. James Martin and his staff, Dr. Charles Frye, Angie Jackson R.N., Pinnacle Hospice and the Radiology Department at Singing River Hospital in Ocean Springs.

A private celebration in honor of Sally's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and or plants, donations in Sally's memory may be sent to St Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society.

Chuck, Dale & Jenny...my heart is heavy to have heard of Sally's passing! I remember so many great times at your house shooting pool, having great cocktails & enjoying Chuck & Sally's bantering back & forth, as only a couple deeply in love could do!!! I also recall when Sally & you, Chuck, were gracious enough to share your home with Dana when she was going through a difficult time in her life. Also, in helping care for Christopher. That is the kind of person Sally was & the kind of person you are Chuck.
I have many fond memories of St. Paddy's day parades in Biloxi, times at the Elks lodge, the Mardi Gras parade in Ocean Springs, especially the year Sally was QUEEN...times at the Catch of The Day...seeing you all at the beach...everyone of them a great memory!!! The world is going to have a huge void in it now that she has left us for a greater adventure...I will miss you Sally!!!

We were some of the lucky ones that got to spend family time with Sal and Pal. We will be forever grateful for the love that she showed our son and his family. She took them in as one of her own. We have spent many meals and visits with the Kiesling family. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Love you guys.
