I am sad to see, in my most recent UW-Madison Alumni Magazine, that Craig died. Alyson and Eric, I am sorry you lost your Dad far too soon. I hope all of you are doing okay.
I ran Cross Country at Madison Memorial High School when Craig ran CC at Madison West. We actually lived near each other, and would sometimes run into each other doing our running workout in the Van Hise school field. We would often talk for awhile after our workouts. Even though Craig and I were "rival" runners at different schools, I liked and respected Craig and admired him for his sportsmanship and toughness and the fact that he was just a nice person. We had been in email contact the past few years, and I always enjoyed hearing from Craig.
Craig, I am sorry you left this Earth so soon.
Sincerely,
Dirk Seibold, [email protected]

Many memories of NTN with St Ank (losing to him, of course, but also of the group games when Stanke was usually the first to shout out the answer... all in the interest of making sure WE were the #1 team on the Stats Posting). Always good times, always warmer due to the Stanke smile. You will be missed, my friend.

You will always be an unforgettable character to so many because you never forgot any of us. Though we did not have regular contact, you were always spot on with the advice and wisdom you shared.

Our years of friendship have been a blessing and a gift. You always made me smile, even when you beat at trivia, which was often. The game won't be the same without you. Neither will this world. You will always be in my thoughts.

He looks so handsome in this photo. God Bless everyone who will always love Craig. He and Ellen brought two wonderful kids into this world.
I'll be thinking of all of you on Saturday as you celebrate his full and shortened life.

I feel so blessed to be able to have met you Stanke! Even though I didn't get to see you, since you moved to Florida, you were still mentioned in a few of my conversations with friends. You will always be someone that I will never forget and a person that never said an unkind person about anyone! I always admired that in you. You were a great person and will be sadly missed by many. See you in heaven! Love You!
