So sorry for your loss but so glad Dr. Benton knew the Lord! Thinking of you Dudley and Patty, Janet, and the wonderful visit I had with you and Dr. Benton in Jan. Your parents were wonderful friends to our parents. They were wonderful to me at the time of our wedding and visited us in Atl.

So sad to hear of Dr. Benton's passing. I so enjoyed working with him at Dr. Ambrose's office. Loved his polyester plaid pants and Saddle Oxford shoes. Boy, he loved chocolate! I will not be able to attend his services tomorrow. My prayers are with all of you!

I really enjoyed helping Dr. Benton and Mrs. Benton. Such fine people to be around. He always was very kind and attentive. He and Mrs. Benton were a great witness. Nanette Davis

I have known the Bentons since the 60's in Ft. Lauderdale through Park Temple Methodist Church and Dr. Benton's Ophthomology practice. He performed surgery on my left eye in 1963.
Fast forward to the mid-2000's when his granddaughter Sarah ended up in my Theatre class at Karns High School in Knoxville, where the Doc had relocated in semi-retirement. Not only did I get to reconnect with a Godly man from my past but also got to hear him say:
" Which is better? This is 1, this is 2". 2 years ago my optometrist discovered an abnormality in that eye and we were able to get Dr. Benton on the phone to discuss whether it was related to the previous surgery.
I know that all of this is God-orchestrated, not coincidence and I am so blessed to have known the Doc and his family over these many years and even more miles.
My prayers go out to all the family.
Rest in The Lord, Doctor.
