Juliette Zophres

Zophres, Juliette Eleanor 80, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012. She was born in Fresno, California and lived in Plantation, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Bill, her son, Theo, her daughter, Mary, her daughter-in-law, Lynn, her son-in-law, Murray and three grandsons--Jake, Carson and Frank. She was pre-deceased by her beloved brother Leonard Maselli. Julie was a graduate of Fresno State University and taught art to junior high school students in Los Angeles. In Florida, she owned and managed two clothing stores, The Bottom Half and Center Stage. For several years, she advised the church youth group, GOYA. In what was one of her proudest achievements, she became a Gold Life Master in Bridge. She took pride in her Italian heritage and loved to cook Italian dishes and Greek specialties. For 35 years, she ran a friendly football pool. Julie touched everyone she knew with her love, warmth and good humor. She will truly be missed by all of us who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Demetrios or to a charity of your choice in Julie's memory. A prayer service for friends and family willl be held on Thursday, August 23 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home at 7001 NW 4rth Street in Plantation. A 40-day memorial will follow at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on September 30.
