Lavina Ullian Obituary
Ullian, Lavinia Munro, 103 yrs. old. Devoted wife and mother, stepped over the threshold to life eternal, in a halo of bright blue and white light, at 11:08am, Wednesday, October 25, 2006. Popes and Princes pale in comparison of spiritual strength, love of God, sharpness of mind and her unselfish and unbridled energy that bonded an incredibly loving family. Lavinia was the daughter of Charles and Emma Munro of Dominion, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, and at 21 yrs of age moved to Boston, MA and earned her Nursing Degree from Boston City Hospital. She and her husband, Dr. Louis J. Ullian, youngest professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a true Saint himself by his God-like capacity to love, moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1931 and built the 'second house on South Victoria Park Road' (a dirt road at that time). She lived on South Victoria Park Road for 75 years, and departed her earthly body in her home there. She is survived by her devoted son, Arthur R. Ullian and his wife, Louise of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; son, Charles M. Ullian and his wife, Svetlana of Eustis, FL; son, Louis J. Ullian, Jr. and his wife, Helen of Merritt Island, FL; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ullian of Leesburg, FL; daughter-in-law, Merry Hadden of Leesburg, FL; grandsons, Charlson Hadden, David Ullian and his fiancé, Paula, Michael Ullian and his wife, Chris and their sons, Jacob, Zachary and Mathew; granddaughters, Sandra Pelton and her husband, Doug and their daughters, Miranda, Mariah and Miley Rose of Lady Lake, FL; Linda Ullian of Knoxville, TN; Elina Butterfield and her husband, Ron and their son, Alex of Middleburg, FL, Marina Sadkova and her husband, Anatolia and their son, Alexander and daughter, Maria of Kaliningrad, Russia. Lavinia's earthly remains will be taken back to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and buried with her mother, brothers and sisters in Dutch Brook Cemetery, a well tended and small cemetery in Dutch Brook, a quiet farming area in the country. Lavinia's brother-in-law, Weston looks after it. Lavinia's mother was Etta Robertson born in Spring Hill, Nova Scotia and her father was Charles Richard Munro born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. Lavinia's sisters were Beryl, Margie and Rita (died age 7), and her brothers were Jack, Gordon and Lloyd (died age 6 mos). Lavinia's youngest sister, Margie married Malcolm MacQueen and their children were Diane, Nancy, Linda, Charles, Duncan and Donna. Their grandchildren were, Aaron, Adam, April, Alana, Suzanne, Heidi, James, Ben, Maggie, Brent, Margo, Katie, Jessica, Laura; great-grandchild, Alyssa. Lavinia's other sister, Beryl married Arthur Erickson and they had a daughter, Barbara whose children are Jeff, Doug, Kevin and Julie. Lavinia's brothers were Jack who married Effie and their children were Phyllis, Charles, John, Robert and Beryl. Beryl played the 'bagpipes' in the Royal Canadian Band and married Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer, Ken Doll and had a son, Shawn who married Carrie and had a daughter, Anna Bella; a son, Chris who married Jacquelin and had children, Lily and Holly, and a daughter, Lisa who married Eric and had children, Jackson and Anatolia, and brother, Gordon who married Helen and had a son, Bob who married Shirley and had sons, Andy and Cameron.
