I am so sorry to hear of your loss of a truly extraordinary human being. I had the honor and privilege of spending many hours with Lou on the golf course at the Kahkwa Club as his caddie about 20 years ago. In addition to his extraordinary generosity, he was truly a kind and compassionate person. Each year, the last round I was with him before going off to college, he would hand me a check which helped pay for my books. He always paid particular attention to my well being and would invite me to the window with the members to get a sandwich at the turn. He was always so full of joy that I looked forward to being around him. I am grateful for the time we had together and he is a role model that I seek to emulate in my life today. God bless you all.

Dear Family. My memory's of Lou are of him at Limco. He was always smiling and laughing. Ever time I came in there he would drop what he was doing. And take time to talk with me and show me around. I have always admired his love for people and his love for his family. He was a great man and will be missed by many.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Dear Shirley and family,

I have so many happy and vivid memories of Lou. What an extraordinary and generous man! My sister use to tell the story of how he opened his wallet to a homeless person on the streets of New York without thinking for a minute that this could have put him in harms way! When visiting Lynne and Betsy in Boston, he would include everyone to join the family for dinner -from Locke Ober to Charley's to Joe Tecci's! I remember how patient he was on those many shopping trips to the Mall and on Newbury Street too! I know how much my parents enjoyed his company and how much my dad respected him as a businessman. I can still hear his laughter coming into the Grill Room after he played a great round of golf! I will keep you all in my prayers and will hold on to the lessons he taught, perhaps without knowing, the importance of a generous Spirit and a loving heart!

I just heard the sad news and was flooded by memories from a million years ago. The echoes of that wonderful laugh remain with me today, as do the memories of a vibrant, warm man. You were lucky to have him but he was lucky to have all of you, too. What a full, rich family life he had! I count myself lucky to have shared in a little part of that.
