Marilou Hahn Ruelle

Marilou H. Ruelle, of Boca Raton, FL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Marilou was born in Evansville, IN to Byron and Louise (Cairns) Hahn. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor and Master degrees in Art Education. She taught a range of art students from elementary to high school for 37 years, eventually retiring from Pine Crest School in Boca Raton, FL.

Marilou was a long-time member of the Delray Beach Club where she was an avid Bridge player and could be found in the pool taking water aerobics classes. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and she had a love for animals having many four legged "children" in her lifetime. Earlier years found Marilou volunteering at Tri-County Animal Rescue and later years she donated her saved up Bridge winnings and needed supplies there. She could also be found bringing one of her beloved dogs for pet therapy at local assisted living and nursing home facilities.

Marilou is survived by her daughter, Susan C. Ruelle of Delray Beach, FL. A private graveside service will be held next week in Miami, FL at Woodlawn Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her mother and father.
