Buntrock, Richard L "Dick" passed away at his home in West Palm Beach on December 16, 2019. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Marvin and Ila Buntrock. After the death of his father in 1948, the family moved to Ft Pierce,Fl. In 1954 they relocated to Ft Lauderdale. He attended Stranahan High School and was a football center for the team, and was chosen as part of the All County team. During his senior year, Dick caught a 566 lb Blue Marlin off the coast of Ft Lauderdale, which remained a record for many years. Hi Commander,
We will surely miss you and we already do and have been for a couple of months now. We are so happy that we were able to talk with you on the phone from hear in Uruguay shortly before Dec. 16 while you were in the hospital. We have tried since then to call you with no success. Our nephew Erik who you know well found this as he was trying to locate you for us.

Anyway we had many great times together, fishing in West Palm, Key West, the Bahamas, Costa Rica and about anywhere we thought there may be a fish or two. It was fun as young "entrepreneurs" building our businesses and lives together.

We retired about the same time in our Florida businesses but as Judy and i moved to Wisconsin, Arkansas, Arizona, back to Florida and in Uruguay 7 years ago now we always stayed in touch. After all we had to have serious discussions as to who had the best football team, Michigan or Ohio State.

You had a heck of a time with that ole body of yours for a few years but you were always able to hang in there and keep your chin up.

We know that you are not in the physical dimension right now but that you will still get this message. Be in peace dear friend, a wonderful person full of joy and love for others. Thank you for being such a positive part of our lives and giving us so many fun-filled experiences to Remember

See you one of these days,
Bob & Judy Lemon

Brother Bunt,

May your wonderful soul rest in peace. I remember the excellent times we always had at Valpo, and on the occasion of various reunions. I shall miss you more than most and can only hope that your last years were happy and rewarding.

In the bond,

The nicest friend and neighbor (for over 40 years) anyone could ever have. He will certainly be missed.

To BUNT'S daughter and grand daughter, my deepest heart felt condolences. Dick was a generous, compassionate, loyal, and forever friend. I knew him since our first day at Valpo and we laughed and carried on many times together. We lived together at Valpo twice and across the hall from each other once. I was with him when my twin grandsons were born 20 years ago next month. I talked to him last at Thanksgiving and we planed to see each other in February. I'll miss him but he's one lucky guy to get to spend Christmas with Jesus. Jim "Mouse" Herbst

My deepest condolences to Dick's family. I played football at Stranahan High School graduating in 1961. I was a Sophomore then moved up to varsity. I was a guard and he a center. He was a tough football player and I'm sure as tough in business like all Stranahan football players were.

Unfortunately, I hadn't seen Dick since graduation. I wish we could have re-connected. I recall when he was a senior in high school when he caught that Blue Marlin and held the record. That fish was caught off the buoy at the Port Everglades inlet. It was displayed outside Midas Muffler for many years.

Rest In Peace Dick.
