Roger DeKing Obituary
He is predeceased by a brother, Rodney DeKing, and a sister, Edwina Matharu.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 17 years, Deborah DeKing, daughter, Theresa DeKing, 2 granddaughters, Angela Anguish and Brittany Gleeson, grandson, Nathan Roger Sims, 4 great-grandchildren, step-daughter, Samantha Vanetti-Recore, step-granddaughter, Camilla Vanetti-Recore, 2 sisters, Corinne (Fred) Boyer of Pearland, TX, and Cynthia DeKing (Steve Essig) of Zephyrhills, FL.
Per Roger's wishes a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

We played jr high basketball, babe ruth baseball together and graduated high school in 1964. I remember him as a fun loving guy, lots of smiles and great at anything he tried to do. RIP my friend

I think Roger and I first connected and third or fourth grade. We were on the same baseball team way back when we were eight years old. It was called the Liverpool T-shirt league. We played on the JV and varsity baseball teams in high school. We also played together all the way up to and through the senior Babe Ruth league. I also remember way back when he managed the W T Grants auto service center on rt 57 near Longbranch rd. Way before there was a John Glenn Blvd.

Condolences and Prayers to Family and Lovered ones. My gosh I called Roger about a month ago and we spoke for a while. We shared many memories of growing up in Galeview together.
Go carts, race cars,playing sports together. CHJH/LHS schools. Playing cards at Dick Schad's while skipping school also play cards at a service station he operated on Morgan rd. Driving all night to CECIL COUNTY DRAG STRIP IN MARYLAND IN HIS HUDSON HORNET.
A lot of memories he was a friend's "friend" always helping if needed. Spent family times together with our families after graduation. God Bless.

Roger was a good friend during all of our school years. We played a lot of baseball together way back then. He could hit a ball a long way. A good guy.
