I was just reminiscing with an old friend about another old friend (Stephen). We were talking about our times together in middle and high school. Stephen and I lived only a street apart, but it felt like we were brothers. He was a great Hunan being and I am lucky to have gotten to know him and befriend him. He will always be remembered.

I offer my condolences to Stephen's family and friends. I knew Doctor Love when I was a student at FSU and always loved being near him. He was sincere and wise...such an old and good soul. God Bless you Stephen, you helped me through in many ways. Peaceful journeys to you friend and much love.

Stephen Love was the greatest lover of life I knew. He was inspirational to all those who threw on a backpack and walked the world in search of themself. I lived with him after he returned from Costa Rica. I'll never forget those times. Anything was possible. Last time I backpacked Europe, he drove from Tallahassee to Miami just to make sure I got out ok. Stephen Love is a once in a lifetime friend. Safe travels, brother.

What can I say about a friend lost? Many lyrics come to mind, like “a hard rain is going to fall” and “a distant ship, smoke on the horizon” but these lyrics do not lighten the loss of Stephen but rather remind me of the song and dance of life that was all his own.

I first met Stephen in high school, where he stood out as a fighter, protesting the lack of funds for students. Since then, he and I remained friends, and worked together while he owned Doc's. Stephen was a deep, caring, and intelligent man. I will miss his wit, and his laughter. I would like to express my sympathy for his parents, and his brother, Jason. May you all continue, having his memory as a light on your paths. Stephen will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
