Angelus CRESTON Obituary

CRESTON, Angelus Joseph "Joe" age 95, passed away peacefully August 11, 2022, in Palm Harbor, FL. He was the beloved husband of 66 years of Josephine Creston; son of the late Joseph and Anna Creston; brother of the late James Creston, who passed on May 12, 2022. Joe is survived lovingly by his three children, Jan Kelly (Paul), Dan Creston and Linda Clarke (Bob); his grandchildren, Michelle Katz (Ben), T.J. Clarke, David and Dana Kelly and Paul Tassi (Michelle); and his adorable great-grandchildren, Joshua Katz and Noah Tassi. Joe was born in Swissvale, PA, May 17, 1927. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy, and after returning from active duty received a Bachelor's degree from Duquesne University. He married the love of his life, Josephine Mustari, Nov. 24, 1955. He spent most of his career as an industrial engineer at Westinghouse in the Nuclear Division. After he and Josie retired in 1990, they enjoyed spending half the year at their second home in Palm Harbor, FL. The things most important to Joe were his family, his religion and his fraternity, Alpha Phi Delta. He was very active in the fraternity, holding various offices including National President and he cherished the lifelong friendships he developed there. Joe was a CCD teacher for many years and also sang in the church choir. He had an amazing voice and we all loved to hear him sing. He was very active in Edgewood and Highland Lakes "Little Theaters" and was quite a comedian and actor as well as a singer. He also loved coaching little league baseball which he did for many years in Edgewood. We will miss Joe's sense of humor, his words of wisdom, his story telling, his singing and his always telling us what was on his mind, including how much he loved us. He lived life to its fullest and always said he had no regrets. A private funeral mass will be held in Palm Harbor, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alpha Phi Delta Foundation Inc. (https://www.apd.org/donate-now.html), or your personal charity of choice.

Dan, Linda, Janice and Josie . . . I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of spending time with your parents when my sister and I were vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale many years ago, and your parents were staying at the same property - small world! They were so kind and fun, and my sister Linda always referred to them as her second set of parents! Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for your comfort during this difficult time.

For a young undergrad in the '70s, Joe was larger than life. I hope Joe realized how many lives he touched, even from 500 miles away.
