Dorothy CHAPUT Obituary

CHAPUT, Dorothy Ann Hoy, 90, of Lake Placid, Fla., was called home by

our Lord Monday, October

18, 2010. Dorothy died at her residence comforted by her loving children. She was a native of Illinois, and the daughter of Ms. Mary Ellen Carney and John P. Hoy, born May 25, 1920, in Chicago. Dorothy worked for her family' s business in Miami, Fla., as the bookkeeper for their hotel. She came to Lake Placid in 1971 from Miami and became very active in the community. Dorothy was a member of the Lake Placid Garden Club, Lake Country Yacht Club, Shamrock Society, Red Hat Club, Highlands Social Dance Club, Highlands County Little Theater, and she was a volunteer for the Lake Placid Chamber. She enjoyed watching her grandsons grow up and participate in various activities. Dorothy loved shopping for clothes and was very fashionable. She was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Dorothy is survived by her children, Charles Philip Chaput of Palatka, Fla., Marie Louise Chaput-Mills of Lake Placid, and John Raymond Chaput (Cyndi) of Lake Placid. She leaves five grandchildren and was blessed with two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Rosemary, John and Jerry. In celebration of Dorothy' s life, a Christian memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at St. James Catholic Church. Father Jimmy Matthews will celebrate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Shephard Hospice, 4418 Sun ' N Lake Blvd., Sebring, FL 33872. Memorial Mass arrangements are under the loving devotion of Michael Brochetti
