I cannot believe you´ve been gone 16 years. You were the best grandfather and I know I was the absolute luckiest to have you.

I hope you´re resting soundly, surrounded by love and flowers from your pear tree.

Glenn will be greatly missed. He was always open to trying out new ideas and projects with his students who he cared for deeply. I will miss his sense of humor and his quiet presence when he walked through my work area.

M. Ray always took "extra" time to explain things, and better help his students better understand. He was always so calm and understanding when you told him you "just didn't get it"!!
Thankyou Mr. Ray for all time you took to help me last year. I will take eveything you taught me and use it wisely. I miss you!

Mr Ray and I shared a classroom second period at RBSMS for the first 3 quarters of the year. As a first year teacher I was always asking him questions and he was so welcoming and kind to me. He was truly a generous soul and I will miss him dearly. He was the kindest to me of all the teachers I have met and I frequently would find notes from him in my mailbox with tips or articles he cut out of the paper that he thought I would find interesting. I always went to him first with any questions and he was always kind and answered them with patience! I was so saddened by his passing and I will always have fond memories of him and his goofy "sombrero" in our end of the quarter "fiesta". Goodbye Mr. Ray - we will miss you!

RBSMS will truely miss Glenn. We had met initially in the late 70's through our colleges. I attended Atlanta Christian and he attended Southeastern. I know that he is in a better place but the students and faculty will miss him.

Glenn (Mr. Ray) meant a lot to his current and former students, and he will continue to hold a place near and dear in their hearts.

Personally, I met Glenn last school year and it is so unfortunate that I only knew him for such a short time. He, like many others, ribbed me for being a Seminole - and always in fun!

FUN... that is one of the few words I will always think of when I remember Glenn.

The future will not be as bright without Glenn, so keep him in your heart and in your prayers, as we will.

I know the pain felt by the family. It is a pain that brings back memories from the past so we'll remember the GOOD. My father, my wife's mother, and many more of our families, will meet him in Heaven and I'm sure they will find lots in common and they'll be thinking of us too, remembering the GOOD.

God Bless All.

I was saddened for the Ray family to hear that Mr. Ray had left us, but cannot help but be happy for his entrance into the presence of his Saviour and Lord. My "connection" is that he and I worked together at Highlands Middle School, and it was a joy for me to know him. He was such a sincere, caring young man. One day he came into my office and presented me tickets to the Symphony's Christmas program, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Whenever I hear them or hear of them, I think of Glenn and his generosity. It is also my sincere privilege to have his Aunt Connie as one of my dearest and closest friends. Our thoughts and prayers will be with all of the family. I consider it a privilege to have known Glenn Ray, and I have the blessed hope of being in his presence again when the time comes for me to join the saints in Glory. Blessings upon each of you.

Uncle Glenn is/was my uncle by marriage, but I have always thought of him as my blood relative. I will miss Uncle Glenn's laugh, his sense of humor and most of all his smile. I loved to hear about the history of the Ray family that Uncle Glenn found while researching the Geneaology of the family.

Uncle Glenn---I know I will see you again....I just hate that I didn't get the chance to say goodbye and I love you. Give Papa, Nana, and my Dad a kiss for me and tell them that I love them.

Glenn was a special person. Unfortunately, the Ray cousins grew up and grew apart by distance. So, most of my memories are of our childhood. As adults, we did see each other on several occasions, and I remember him as kind, loving and thoughtful. He could always make me laugh. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gregory, Carl, Robin and Aunt Thelma. You have lost so many loved ones in such a short time.

Glenn was like the big brother that I didn’t have, and he and I had a kind of connection I have found is rare - we liked the same music, laughed at the same things - we would often say the same thing at the same time. It has been a long time since I’ve seen him but still felt close to him. Glenn was a good, decent man who loved his family. He brought a lot of joy into Papa Ray’s later years when they worked diligently together researching our family’s genealogy. I know my mother, his Aunt Connie, will miss him very much too. Glenn often helped her around her house when he lived in Jacksonville, and they had a close bond. His students planting a tree in his honor is so appropriate for Glenn! He loved to “work in the yard” and the love of gardening was one thing he and my mother shared. He continued to keep in touch with her after he moved to Zephyrhills, which she appreciated. He told us how he loved to teach and what good students he had. I know that he made a good impression on them, and made some good memories, which I hope they will take with them during this difficult time. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for Robin, Carl & Gregory to lose your Dad, Mother and now your brother all within the last eight months. Something Glenn said at the time of his grandmother Gardner’s funeral years ago put grief in perspective for me – “I know I’ll see her again.” I know I’ll see Glenn again, and knowing that he is with his family who have passed before him is comforting. We will miss him very much.

I worked with Glenn's sister for many years and met Glenn a couple of times when he came to visit. He seemed like a very nice man & it was clear that he loved his sister. This family is in my thoughts and prayers. They have been through so much this past year. I love you Robin.

As far apart cousins, Glenn and I did not grow up together, but did make a connection some years back when he and his wife moved to Callahan Fl and we attended the same church. He made a friend in my, then young, son by giving him some gerbils for pets. After he moved away, we kept in touch by email. What a wonderful testimony to Glenn's character as shown in the entry from one of his students. He has a fine legacy there and one his family can be very proud of. He left his mark in this world and will be missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Ray was my 1st period Geography teacher. Unfortunately he passed away, he will be missed dearly. On May 1st my school R.B.S.M.S. is holding a memorial service for Mr. Ray since his brothers and sister cremated him and brought him to Georgia. We will be wearing Gator themed things in memory of him. We are also buying a tree and bench to place out in the commensary.
