Dearest Cody, Cambia & Stephanie..
I DONT expect you to read this, it´s been many years since the passing of Jimmy Charles Carson, but I´d like to share my condolences regardless: he was an amazing soul. He battled the IV for as long as he could, but Prehaps god had better plans for him up in heaven...I will pray for the blessing of you all, as the passing of jimmy I´m sure still hurts to think about when it strikes 2:42 pm. He was a very wise man, and I believe his quote "there´s no shortcuts to success" sticks with us all deeply. It´s engraved a huge meaning within my life, and allowed to pursue my own dreams. Please carry with you the knowledge that he loves you all dearly. I can tell. And I know he´s looking down at you, his beautiful family in such pride. Seeing how successful his son has become, how amazing his daughter has grown to be, with her new spouse, and his wife, whom has stayed strong throughout these painful years. God bless you all.

Dear Stephanie,
The celebration of Jim's life was amazing and beautiful. It was all about the music and the laughter. I continue to pray for you and your family. I know that Jim is with you, holding your hand...and God is holding the other. Behind you is a church full of people ready to step in at a moments notice. As you take the walk of grief remember that even in moments of solitude you are surrounded by prayers and God and Jim's love.
Diane.

Dearest Stephanie, Cambia, Cody & Family
We rejoice that Jim is no longer suffering, but are also deeply saddened by his passing. Your family's faith and strength has shown many how to place their trust in God. And we are so thankful for that. We love you all & pray for your comfort during the coming days.

Jim was joy to be with on the bandstand. His enthusiasm and humor were as great an asset as his musicianship. The first time he played with the Tomkats Big Band was around 1987 at a fantastic private block party in Ybor City. The band had terrific personnel and the sound crew was top notch. The trumpet section was sufficiently manly with John, Tom, Alan and myself. Jim sat in and played the lead parts up an octave! Doggies! That adds some sizzle to the sound of a band. Two of the last gigs he played were with the Tomkats too. It may be the first time in his life that he played 4th trumpet or sitting down. As usual, he was cracking jokes! We are going to miss him.

Playing with the Tomkats big band was always a little more fun when Jim was around playing lead trumpet. His playing and especially his humor always added to the gig. My deepest condolences to Jim's family during this difficult time.

I went to Berklee with Jim and toured with Staight Talk as well. Jim was a great friend. The horn section was awesome because of his trumpet. I'm sure Jim and Maynard are playing duets everyday. May God bless you and your family.

Dear Stephanie, Cambia, and Cody,
The God of all comfort both rejoices in Jim's homecoming and grieves with your aching hearts. He will be sorely missed, but we know that he no longer suffers pain. Maybe he's even playing his trumpet in great praise to God right now!
My heart and my prayers go out to you all for grace and strength in these coming days as you miss the one you all love so very much.
