James, Patty and family: at a time like this, nothing we can do or say can ease your pain. Just know that we are grieving with you. What we can do, is remember the wonderful times we all spent with JR and his family. Having watched him grow from a baby into a fine young man, we have many of those times to look back on, picnics, hunting trips, and of course the Jamborees. We love you guys, and our thoughts and prayers are right there with you.

JR was a member of the Gaither Cowboy swim team, I was his coach. I have several pictures of him in front of me right now, all with a huge smile and a cowboy hat. It's so hard to think of young people leaving us too soon. My sincerest condolences to his family, and may his memory always be a blessing.

JAMES, I am completely in shock and saddened by the news. Over the past 12 years I have been witness to yours and Brooke's life changing moments. I honestly do not have the words to say to help comfort your family and friends and help their hearts begin to heal, however, I hope you rest easy brother. Rest assured knowing your beautiful sons will never forget you and their amazing mother will always keep your memory as vibrant and loving as ever.

I can't seem to find the right words to express my feelings but I am going to give it a shot. I wanted to get close to J R but due to the large age difference that did not happen. J R did to me what no other person I have ever had the honor to meet he was like a magnet to me because he was always smiling which in turn made me smile. Along with that smile my whole insides just felt great. J R will be missed by many people and now he is giving that smile to God and his Angels.

I struggle to write this even now as I watch our boys say their prayers and go to sleep. I am thankful for the 12 years we had together and the memories we made. As a father, a friend, and my husband, you always gave your best, always made sure we were taken care of, and always gave your all to whatever you put your mind to. I will continue to raise our boys the way they should be surrounded by family, laughter, and love. You will always be in our hearts, minds, and soul. I know you will be watching us from heaven as our boys grow into men. You will always be here with us, JR.
Love,
Brooke

To my best friend, partner and love of my life-
You truly blessed the lives of those around you, as your family and friends will attest. You were a great father to our children. You could always make us laugh and bring a smile to our faces. The void that is left in our house and in my heart, no words can explain. I miss our daily morning talks on the way to work, cooking dinner together, watching you share your knowledge with the kids, and especially our kisses goodnight and being in your arms. I look to God for strength to get through this. I know you are in Heaven and cant wait to see you again. I LOVE YOU JAMES!!!
