My sincere condolences to Suzanne and family. I have worked with Barney for 15 or so years at MSB and I have never met a more inspiring and kind leader. He has had a lasting influence on my life, teaching me to accept people for what they CAN do, rather than what they CAN'T do. My life has been richer for having him in it.

Hi Suzanne, you might not remember me, but when I saw your dad's obituary in the paper this morning I had to send this brief note. I'm the youngest McCotter, Marcia, and I have such wonderful, fond memories of all of the Martins, especially in Madison, Connecticut. I adored your mom and dad, who, along with you, had suffered such horrible tragedies!
I'm not sure I should go on and on at this point, but I'd love to hear from you and I'm going to leave my email address. [email protected]
I'm thinking of you, and hoping life has treated you with the kindness and peace you deserve!

A great and good man among men! Uncle Barney is the best. A terrific and fun family man, he, as our mom said, "always does the right thing". We always felt he was in charge of any situation, 'real life', social or otherwise. Many of the Martin family photos and memories are because of Barney. You always wanted to be at your best around him, and you were better for it. We'll all miss Uncle Barney dearly, and he'll always be with us. God Bless! Nephew Joe Bernard Martin, and all the Martins...

I was so sorry to hear this today, he was a favorite of mine for so many years from when he first rented a home from me in Grand Harbor & was always a joke between us that I lent him my china. I have seen him around the Oak Harbor Club House over the years, I will miss him.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Martin's passing. He was a favorite with all of us at Perkins. Always upbeat and cordial, he was a customer we looked forward to serving.
