JAMES HARVEY ROWE James Harvey Rowe, of Stuart, Florida passed away January 15, 2008 at the age of 82. A farewell celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at the Sailfish Point Marina on February 21, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jim was born April 11, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to Harvey Gerard Rowe and Bess Achuff Rowe and reared with his sister Jacqueline Rowe Murray and brother Harvey Gerard Rowe Jr. He was married for over twenty years to Susan Brown Rowe, and they were the parents of Thomas Alexander Rowe, James Andrew Rowe, and Amy Elisabeth Rowe (Grosse). He was also grateful for their loving spouses, Sally J. Rowe, Janet C. Rowe, and Robert S. Grosse. He was a proud grandfather of Kelly Cathryn Rowe and Timothy Randall Rowe. He is survived by his sister Jacqueline Rowe Murray, his brother- in-law Paul and sister-in-law Ingrid Tucker, his sisters-in-law Judy Rowe, Lilliana Minaya-Rowe, Dottie Brown, Phyllis Brown Hennessey and all of their children and grandchildren. In 1970 Jim married Alice Tucker Rowe and they relocated from St. Louis, Missouri to Stuart, Florida in 1971. He graduated from University City High School a High Jump State Champion, and served in the Army Air Corp. in the states and in the Philippines. Upon return home after World War II, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He later received his Masters from Harvard University in Education and went on to a career as a teacher and beloved principal at Hanley Junior High School, University City; Community School, Ladue. and Pine School in Stuart until his retirement. Jim continued his education throughout his life, and couldn't resist teaching those he encountered along the way. Jim was a lifelong Rotarian, an avid fisherman and loved the flora and fauna of southern Florida.
