Michael always had a smile on his face,What a nice gentleman.My husband JB loved playing drums when Mike was playing at the Oriales on a Monday.No more pain for Mike and my JB,They are playing there music in Heaven.Prayers for the Wife and Family.God Bless.

The last link to my father's line of Laportes.
I am sure you came into the world singing and in your heart you went out the same way.
One day I will dust off the fiddle you gave dad. I see it every day as it stands beside your mother's piano.
What a blessing to have been raised in such a musical family. You left us the legacy of your voice.
You are greatly missed already.

Always loved our visits to Florida, filled with laughter and bluegrass (and maybe a beverage or two), all made so special with Mike's "joie de vivre" and fiddle music. Sending my heartfelt condolences and huge hugs to Wendy, Mark and all their families.
