Paula LaPorte Obituary
PAULA LYNN LAPORTE Paula Lynn LaPorte, 54, of Columbus, GA went home to be with our Lord on Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Paula was born on March 6, 1957 in Vero Beach, FL, the daughter of Paul and Edith Smith. She was employed by Regions Bank and held the position of Senior Vice President. Paula's love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. Where ever she went, whatever she did, she radiated the love of the Lord to all of those around her. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Gerald J. LaPorte, Sr. of Columbus, GA, daughter, Nicole Bone and husband Stephen of Columbus, GA, son, Gerald "Jerry" LaPorte, Jr. and wife Lisa of Jacksonville, FL, sister, Louise Tarvin and fiancé Jack Crocetta of Sebastian, FL, brothers, Steven Smith and wife Gloria of Leesburg, FL, Richard Smith and wife Jeanette of Vero Beach, FL, and grandson, Cayden Bone of Columbus, GA. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Cascade Hills Church located at 727 54th St., Columbus, GA 31904, with Reverend Bob Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society. Praying that God will comfort you in this time of loss. I worked with Paula for several years. She was always pleasant and brought light to those around her. I know she is free from pain and is at the right hand of her savior.

I am so very sorry for your loss of precious, beautiful Paula. We spent many hours together, enjoying decorating her home. We soon lost our client/designer relationship and became very close friends and I'll treasure that friendship forever. You were all so blessed to have her in your lives as I'm sure you've always known. From experience, God will give you the strength and comfort that you need in the time ahead.
