Thomas Veech Obituary
Vero Beach, FL
Thomas Renaud Veech peacefully passed on February 12, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born May 13, 1929 Tom was preceded in death by his mother Grace, and father Edmund. Survived by his loving wife Ellie of 59 years and children Patrick (Christine), Scott, Stuart (Mascha), and Michael (Moira). Tom's legacy also includes eight grandchildren; Patrick Jr., Thomas John (T.J.), Wilson, John, Philip, Nick, Nina, and Luke.
Tom was captain and All-American golfer at Notre Dame University. Tom was a Monogram Club member and was selected for the Notre Dame Wall of Fame. He won the Western Junior Amateur in 1947 at age 18 and he played in the Masters Golf Tournament. Tom won the Wisconsin State Amateur Golf Tournament and was four-time Wisconsin State Open champion. He finished 5th in the prestigious Western Open in 1967 and 6th in 1964. Tom played on the PGA Tour in 7 US Open Championships and a Senior Open. Tom was inducted into the Wisconsin Golf Hall of Fame in 1979.
Tom earned a BS degree from Notre Dame in 1952 and retired from Moen Inc. in 1990 as VP Sales & Marketing. He was member of the Bent Pine Golf Club.
A funeral mass will be held on February 22 at 10:30am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) www.jdrf.org

My mon and dad (Lou and Classie Warobick) were best friends of Tom and Ellie. I will always remember growing up remembering the golf tournaments, visits, fish fry's in Door County, special events like my graduation with Tom and Ellie and my parents 25th Wedding Anniversary; and, most recently, Ellie asking for my mon's pickle recipe. Cherished memories of very special people.

I've been trying to contact Tom for years, my husband was his roommate at N.D. and I got hit with Tom's golf balls dozens of times. All prayers for him.

I will remember Tommy not only as the best golfer I've seen but mostly as a very generous man with a great love for his family and OH yes- that great sense of humor!
