Joyce Allen Obituary
January 23, 1941 - October 9, 2024
Joyce was born in Prescot, Oregon to Joe and Flora Norred. She joined a family that included Joe Jr., Charles, and Irma (all deceased), Bobby and Art. She married Bob Burns and they had 3 children, Terry (Cindy) Burns and Troy (Nanci) Burns of Rainier and Candy (Jeremey) Brooks of Longview. They later divorced.
Joyce worked at Bob's Sporting Goods in Longview in the early 1970's and then went to work at the Wauna paper mill where she retired. She was an excellent seamstress and made many beautiful quilts that are family treasures.
Joyce married Alvin Allen and together they traveled the U.S., spending winters in Arizona and summers in the Pacific Northwest. They later divorced.
Joyce moved to Longview and, not one to slow down, she volunteered her time becoming Regional Director for the Catholic Church Birthright Program for many years.
Joyce is survived by her children, her brothers Art (Carolyn) Norred and Bobby (Pat) Norred and their families. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including her best friend Darlene Ollilla.
Please join us to celebrate Joyce's life on November 9, 2024 at the Rainier Senior Center (48 W7th Street, Rainier, Or) from 11:30 1:30.

Joyce and her family were a huge part of my childhood. We were neighbors and for that I am thankful. She was like a second mother to me. She was a wonderful lady who loved to help anyone who asked. She has a solid loving family to show for it. Bless all of you and thank you Joyce for always making me feel welcome at your house as I was escaping mine !!! Forever in my heart.

Spending lots of weekends with Candy, Joyce was always great. She patient and kind with us two girls. I remember her yummy stuffed peppers.
I'm sorry Candy, Terry, and Troy for your loss. I have lots of great memories of your mom and family.
