Andrew L Grace, 83
OAKLAND, NJ - Andrew L. Grace, 83 of Oakland, died Wednesday, April 3 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Wayne, N.J. following a brief illness.
He was the husband of Coral E. (Zindt) Grace who died in 2004. He leaves his son Kevin P. Grace, D.M.D. and his wife Anne M. Grace of West Brookfield, MA. He was predeceased by siblings, Edna and John.
Andrew was a General Manager in charge of purchasing, deliveries and hiring for 100 stores for the former Garden State Farms in Midland Park, NJ, retiring in 1972 after 30 years. He later was a carpenter for interior bank branches with United Jersey Bank.
Born in Wykoff, he was the son of Andrew and Edna (Grass) Grace. He later served his country in the National Guard. He was a member of the Activities Unlimited Social Club at the Reformed Church in Wycoff. He was on many committees and enjoyed the camaraderie of its' members. Earlier in life, he coached many Little League teams and was an assistant Scout Master for many years with Troop 49, both in Oakland, NJ.
Memorial services will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Mass. 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
