Andrew Rich Obituary

Andrew John Rich

1991 - 2018

EAST FALMOUTH - Our Dear Lord, with his amazing grace, has called our son and brother Andrew John home. Andy's struggle with recovery is over, he is now free of pain and is our guardian angel. Andy was his dad's pal, and forever his Mom's baby boy. He loved fiercely and had so many family and friends who loved him. His favorite team was the Boston Bruins. He loved wearing their gear, including a sweater that he had to have. A true die-hard fan, he wore it to work and won the ugly sweater contest. Andy put his heart and soul into everything he did. He was proud of his ability to learn new skills quickly and with perfection. He excelled in custom sign fabrication for Sign-Pro in Bristol, CT and more recently he worked for Coastal Life Companies on Cape Cod doing construction and landscaping work.

Andy is survived by his parents; Bruce and Debbie Rich and Michael and Linda Parker, maternal Grandma Louise Gadbois, who was his Godmother; siblings Christopher and Jodi Rich and their children Paige, Christian, Chase and Declan (Andy's godson); Nicholas Rich and Nicole Gilley and their children Damian and Dominick; Stephen Rich and Fernanda Canedo and their children Brian, Kim, Naomi, Brooke-Lynne, Cole, Christopher and 'his princess' Raegan, and Renee Pirelli. Andy is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends- John Martel, Mackenzie Moen-Lisk and Jess Wozniak. Andy was predeceased by his maternal Grandpa Leon Gadbois (who was his Godfather), paternal grandparents Gordon and Ruth Rich, uncle Gordon (Skipper) Rich Jr., and cousin Thomas John Cervone.

Andrew was born in Worcester, MA on July 15, 1991. He grew up in Sturbridge and graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School in 2009. He moved to Cape Cod in 2017 and was attending Cape Cod Community College with plans to return to Western New England University to complete his engineering degree. He enjoyed disc golf and music moved his soul. Andy made many new friends in the Gosnold Community, at work and in his new home in Falmouth.

His family would like to invite you to Calling Hours Saturday June 16th from 9:30 to 11:30 AM in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 34 Jarvis Ave., Holyoke. A Celebration of Andy's Life will follow beginning at 12:00 Noon. His favorite dinner will be served immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall. Please join the family and share your memories. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial donations be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 34 Jarvis Ave, Holyoke, MA 01040, Gosnold at Miller House (payable to Gosnold) 200 Ter Heun Dr., Falmouth MA 02540 https://donate.gosnold.org/gosnold-at-miller-house or to Foundations Group Inc., c/o Michael Clancy, 53 Terance Ave, East Falmouth, MA 02536. Five years... and not a day goes by that my heart doesn´t miss you and long to have you with me to give you a hug. I only have my memories, but they are some of the best. Going to plant your garden tomorrow and see your beautiful tree. It is my special way of remembering you and hoping it brings joy to all who live in your house. I will always love you and give thanks to God for keeping you safe in His loving arms. Your light and love bring me peace. Love, Mom

sadly I do not remember the last time I talked to you, the last time I saw you, even the last time i said goodbye to you. I do remember making jokes and promising each other the following year for Halloween we were going to be Patrick star and spongebob and make all those funny noises they do on the show. You brought my family closer and kept my moms heart filled with laughter and happiness. I know Naomi and cole wishes they still can joke around with you and have you take care of them. I wish I can still see your smile and talk about all your favorites things. Your favorite ugly sweater is the light to my room and is kept safe until I go to a Bruins game. You fill my heart everyday along with everyone else's. You are at peace and no longer hurting. Thank you for being the light to everyone’s life and loving everyone. We will never forget about you and we will always love you.

I met Andy when Debbie married Bruce. He was a fun loving teen then and was full of life. I talked to him about is future and he was looking forward to going to college. The future was bright for this handsome boy. When someone young is taken from us there are no good words. Love to the family and may you have the courage to handle this. Love to all.

Such a funny, kind young man and a true friend to Mac. The world is a lesser place with his passing, but his energy remains in the hearts and minds of those he touched. I am truly sorry for his loss.
