Brian Lambert Obituary

Brian W. Lambert

Millbury -

Brian W. Lambert, 50, died on Friday, February 15, 2019, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a lifelong battle with chronic kidney disease. In 1972, at the age of 4, he was the first child to successfully undergo a kidney transplant when a team of doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital transplanted one of his mother's kidneys. A fighter throughout his life, he endured dialysis for the last 29 years.

He leaves his father, Thomas J. Granger of Coventry, RI; his stepmother, Diane J. (Austin) Granger of Oxford; four brothers: Richard D. Lambert and his companion, Rebecca Smith, Thomas J. Lambert and his partner, Nicholas C. Hicks, Scott F. Lambert and his fiancee, Ericka J. LeBlanc, all of Millbury, and Wayne T. Granger and his wife, Caitlyn E. (Parzych) Granger, of Sturbridge; a sister, Marie E. (Granger) Arsenault and her husband, Daniel J. Arsenault, of Leicester; seven nieces and two nephews; three grandnieces and five grandnephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins; two close friends: Brian Burns of Spencer and Richard Penny of North Brookfield; and many friends who loved him. He was predeceased by his mother, Gail T. (McKeown) Granger Lambert and his stepfather, Frederick A. Lambert.

Born in Worcester on July 28, 1968, Brian lived in Millbury for most of his life. He was a 1987 graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School.

Over the years, he enjoyed playing baseball, hockey, basketball, football, and video games. An avid Boston Bruins fan, he also liked following all of the Boston professional teams. He loved camping and, especially, spending time with family and friends.

Brian's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 23, in Assumption Catholic Church, 10 Waters St., Millbury. Those wishing to attend the Mass are requested to go directly to the church.

After cremation, Brian's remains will be buried privately beside his mother in Central Cemetery, Millbury.

Calling hours at Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury, will be Friday, February 22, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.

My little schmeagle, my loving uncle B. How we wish things could have been so different, we all know that you are in a better place❤ Always so carefree you will be missed so much. You were always making up songs with our names and singing them out loud while you'd be sweeping or dusting or cleaning and keeping a busy man. You'd keep a smile on all of our faces even when we annoyed you. I love you so much! I know that you & grandma are smiling down on all of us and will guide us and keep us safe until we meet again. Lots of hugs & kisses to heaven for both of you

Brian, this doesn't seem real that you have moved on to the other side... Where ever that may be, I sit here and wonder what you might be doing now... If your with Mommy and Daddy and Everyone else that have gone before you... I sit and stare at your pictures and wonder if you hear me talking to you... and your reactions, We all got together tonight and looked at all your pictures, what joy you still brought to our hearts.. We smiled, chuckled and ever shed tears while remembering precious moments we each shared with you... I remember always laughing with you... Never really caring what others thought.., Doing our thing... cooking on the grill... many summer nights by the fire, strawberry shortcakes... Horror movies... Christmas Cartoons Charlie Brown... Scooby Doo... Hulk... You loving your sports Hockey, Football, Baseball and basketball.... You always wished you could play as a Professional Hockey player and I hope you are now where ever you might be. It's been snowing since you left... I wonder if it's a sign, from our previous conversation's... Heaven is so beautiful its what you said it was ... when you have died before and come back, you said it was pretty much like here on earth, but no pain suffering, just Mansions, and everything is just so beautiful, bright colors with a glowing white around everything. I remember playing cards picth, board games, wrestling Monday and Tuesday night Raw... wwf.. I hope Your Spirit will often visit... Yours is always welcomed in my home, .. I was so worried you had to do that part of leaving on your own... I so wanted to be with you... When you left. Because on that day ... A big part of my heart left ... Those last pure and so innocent moments...
I Love you Brian, I've been so lonely with you being gone... love You
