David Beauregard Obituary

David R. Beauregard, Sr., 65, of Weymouth Street, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Maine Medical Center, Portland.

He was born in Gardner, MA, May 6, 1942, the son of Norman H. Beauregard, Sr. and Jeannette Manseau Beauregard. He graduated from Gardner High School. He married Virginia Barnes in South Portland, May 4, 1963.

He was a Chief in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1960 to 1980, having served in Vietnam. Among his decorations, were the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Commendation Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorius Unit Citation ( Gallantry Cross with Palm) and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He became a journeyman electrician and worked at Falmouth Electric for several years, before purchasing Two Rivers Campground in Skowhegan in 1984, which he operated with his wife until 2001. He moved to Brunswick in 2003 and was a member and the custodian of the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the E7-8-9 Club in South Portland and the CPOA of Cape May, NJ.

He was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Beauregard. He is survived by his wife, Ginny of Brunswick; his mother of Gardner, MA; two daughters, Michelle M. Janosik and her husband, Michael of Windham and Kathryn A. Beauregard of Auburn; a son, David R. Beauregard, Jr., and his wife Susan of Nobleboro; six brothers, Norman H., Allen, Eugene and Raymond Beauregard, all of Gardner, Arnold of Hudson, NH, Daniel of Westminster, MA; four sisters, Nancy Cormier of New Port Richey, FL, Jeannine Miller of Manchester, NH, Suzanne Hakkinen of Houston, TX, Elaine Jandris of Winchendon, MA and eight grandchildren.

A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 16th at the United Methodist Church, corner of Church and Raymond Roads, Brunswick with the Rev. Jeffrey J. Hunt and Rev. Edward W. Poitras officiating. Interment will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland. Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m., Friday at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, 320 Church Road, Brunswick, ME 04011 or to U.S. Coast Guard Morale, Welfare & Recreation, 550 Neptune Drive, Bldg 211, BNAS, Brunswick, ME 04011, ATTN: Charlene Lindberg.
