David Kane Obituary

David Kane, 57

WEBSTER - David Kane of Webster, MA (and longtime resident of Saugus, MA) died on May 21, 2018, after a prolonged battle with Traumatic Brain Injury. He was 57 years young.

Born on April 15, 1961, in Saugus MA, Dave is the son of the late Johanna & Robert Kane, and the brother of the late Robert Kane. He is survived by his daughter Shannon, granddaughter Hannah; both of Hampton, NH, and grandson Barry; whom Dave adopted and lovingly raised. He is also survived by his sister, Laura Kane, and his brother, John Kane; both of Saugus, as well as many nieces and nephews.

By trade, Dave was a CNC Machinist, but an injury forced an early retirement. He lived his life according to the tenets of Buddhist philosophy. If a life could be measured by deeds, then Dave's would be one of abundance. He touched so many lives, and he would do anything for family, friends, and even strangers.

Family was paramount in his heart, and his capacity for love was truly boundless. And to say that Dave had more friends than just about anyone would be a disservice. Dave didn't make friends, he made family. And he had the largest family.

Dave's passion was music, especially live concerts; but none more so than the Grateful Dead. It was within that culture that he found like-minded brethren, and his second family. He was most at home sitting around a campfire with people he cherished, playing the music he loved.

From afar, some would say that Dave was quite a character. But to those fortunate enough to know him, we'd say that he had a rock-solid character. Honest, kind, devoted, and in possession of the most infectious belly laugh, there was nothing fake about Dave. He was truly the genuine article. His gentle soul will be sorely missed. May the four winds blow him safely home.

There will be gathering of family and friends on Saturday, June 2nd at The Elks Lodge, 401 Main Street, Saugus, MA between the hours of 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. There will also be a Celebration of Life with live musical performances on Saturday, July 7th at the Bull Mansion in Worcester. For condolences

It wont get easier for me to loose a great friend like you. The wound cut too deep when i heard the news, but rest well my brother, and god has a special place set out for you up there. One where the stage is set just for you. I'll see you on the other side. May God watch over you as you watch over us hippie Dave. Much peace brother

Wonderful write up, but as we all know words can't describe Dave. Dave was a hugely important part of my life, his unconditional love and acceptance for me, actually taught me how to feel the same for myself. He will always be my brother. I pray that he knows how important he was to so many people and how relevant his time here on this earth was. See you on the other side dancin'

I've known some pretty cool cats in my time. As well as other animals, but as humans go, Dave was darn near the best example I've run into in all my travels and time on your most curious spinning ball.
