Ward of Millbury; four sisters, Carol A. Carlo of Worcester, Diane V. Ward of Florida, Susan M. Looney of Shrewsbury, and Pamela J. Phillips of North Carolina; many nieces and nephews. David was such a fabulous person, always smiling, sharp wit, always doing something creative, great fun to be around, such a positive energy about him, a virtual whirlwind of activity, a rare individual indeed. He left the world a better place than he found it. He will be greatly missed. My heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Joe , his family, and his many many friends. May he rest in peace.

Joe and Family:

We came to the Jenkins Inn as customers many years ago looking for a wonderful dining experience. We certainly got that and much more. Your and David´s friendship. David was a master of culinary excellence, never disappointing in his creations. But he was also a humble and gracious man who also possessed a devilish sense of humor! We also looked forward to having the last reservation of the evening because we could " shoot the breeze" with you two.

We know if prayers alone could make a person live forever, David would still be with us. Unfortunately God had his own plans for David, and despite our sadness we know that he is at peace and at rest.

God bless you.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. Dave had a big heart, and always put 100% into everything he ever did. The family is grateful for your posts, and happy that his friends cared enough to do so. We aren’t surprised by this. Love, peace, and eternal friendship to all of you also.

Dear Joe, Such a loss for you, Dave's extended family, the beautiful community of Barre, and more. I have so many fond memories of stays at the Inn prior to our move to Barre. And, then many fine dinners and most of all the conversations we shared. You and Dave created a remarkable and notable 'Corner' in Barre, filled with beautiful gardens and, of course, the Inn. I am so saddened by this news...and refreshed by the hoy that Dave Ward lives on forever in your heart, mind and spirit as well as all those who knew and loved him...and Icon in Barre, gone, but never forgotten. With heartfelt love and support to you Joe, Joyce and Fred Axelson-Lorch
