Jerald Sandler Obituary
Manchester, NH - Jerald Newton Sandler, 85, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Providence, RI, on June 13, 1931, a son of Harry and Rebecca (Fain) Sandler. Jerry was joined in marriage with Suzanne Levy on May 15, 1960. Jerry worked for many years at First Safety Fund National Bank in Worcester, MA. He went on to work for Digital Equipment Corporation in Merrimack, NH, retiring in 1989. Jerry earned his B.S.B.A., Magna Cum Laude, from Clark University in Worcester, MA., and his M.B.A. from New Hampshire College, now SNHU. Jerry had been a long-time member of Temple Adath Yeshurun in Manchester, NH, was an award-winning bridge player, and a table tennis champion. He enjoyed the Red Sox and the Patriots.
Jerry is survived by his two loving daughters, Hope Garner and her husband Craig, and Stephanie Sandler; and two grandchildren, Isabelle and Lucas Garner. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Suzanne, in 2008.
A Memorial celebration will begin at 11 am on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at the Manchester Hebrew Cemetery on South Beech Street, Manchester, NH.

I came to know Jerry while working at Digital. He was a good and gentle man, very well respected by those who had the chance to work with him. My deepest sympathies to his family in this sad time.

As I came out of college in 1967, my first job was at Guaranty Bank & Trust. Jerry was the head of the credit department and my mentor as I learned about commercial credit and lending. I left Guaranty Bank in 1970 for another banking opportunity, but connected with Jerry from time to time at social and business events in Worcester. Everyone in the Worcester banking community knew and liked Jerry. He certainly made a big impression on me.
