John Paire Obituary

John D. Paire, 40

CHARLTON - John D. Paire, age 40 died tragically Friday, September 15, 2017 when his bicycle was struck by an automobile on Rt. 20 in Charlton. John was born on January 28, 1977 in Worcester, MA. He is the son of David J. Paire and Janice L. (Lavoie) Szlyk.

John is survived by his wife of 8 years, Renee (Gaylord) Paire, one daughter, Millie and two sons, Lucas and Keegan. His father, David J. Paire and his wife, Lois of Dudley. His mother, Janice L. (Lavoie) Szlyk and her husband, Edward of Lighthouse Point, Fl.; his sister, Jessica Paire of Barrington, RI; his nephews, Michael, Noah and Jack and a niece, Emerson. In addition to his family, he leaves behind his mother-in-law, Cheryl Gaylord, father-in-law, Paul Gaylord, sister-in-law, Tracy Bouffard and brother-in-law, Derek Gaylord. He will also be missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends, colleagues and students, past and present.

He was a dedicated educator in his tenth year with Dudley-Charlton Regional School District. He was the former principal at Dudley Middle School recently leaving to return to the classroom to spend more time with his family. Prior to his tenure in Dudley, John was a member of the Bartlett High School and Burgess School communities where he was an enthusiastic teacher, coach and administrator. John is a graduate of Shepherd Hill Regional High School and Seton Hall University, New Jersey where he was a proud brother in the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. He later received a Master's Degree in Education from Lesley University in Boston. John enjoyed watching and talking about the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots, but his favorite teams to support were Lucas, Millie and Keegan's baseball/softball and soccer teams. He enjoyed being with friends and listening to the radio, be it sports-talk radio or the music of Phish, Grateful Dead and MOE.

Above anything and everything, John loved being a husband and father. His favorite job was being Dad. He looked forward to each and every moment spent with Renee and his children. Spending time on the lake with his family, traveling to Florida, a recent hiking adventure with his dad, and coaching his children's teams made John truly happy.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, September 23 at Shepherd Hill Regional High School, 68 Dudley-Oxford Rd., Dudley, MA with Rev. John White officiating. Burial will be privately held at a later date.

Memorial calling hours will be Friday, September 22 from 4-8 pm at Bartel Funeral Home and Chapel, 33 Schofield Avenue, Dudley, MA. In lieu of flowers donations to can be made to the John Paire Student Support Fund (c/o the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District, 68 Dudley-Oxford Rd. Dudley, MA 01571). This fund has been established in John's memory to help all Dudley-Charlton children have access to an enriched, well-rounded educational experience regardless of their socioeconomic status.

As faculty adviser to John's fraternity, Phi Kappa Theta at Seton Hall, I remember John as an outstanding brother. I've heard from many of his brothers in the past few days; we all regret his passing. He did more in his short life than many of us can hope to do in more. May he rest now in peace, and may his family treasure the memory of a truly great man.

To the Paire family, may you have peace and comfort at this time of need. Just want too leave a bible gem at this time and it is taken from Isaiah check 25 verse 8 which shows that God will swallow up death forever and he will wipe all tears from our faces. And the envelopment that cover us which is death,God will remove forever. What a wonderful time to look forward to, very shortly we will be able to be reunited with our dear love ones again.

My condolences to the family. May the God of comfort strengthen you during this difficult time.
