John was a fabulous addition to Trinity Church in Northboro while our children were very young! I remember that I started directing the Junior Choir because he could not. That was a great experience for me. Remember the young couples club, how you were so instrumental in forming that, Susan. I can remember the children, Lisa and David, and how bright and talented they were even then.
I'm sorry for your loss, Susan, Lisa and David. He was an extraodinary man.

Susan--
Bev emailed to tell me of John's death. I know that it was a long and constant fight against the cancer. I'm sorry that he lost, but glad that you had that time together. I'd love to see you. Do think of visiting Woodstock again.

I worked with John at the Department of Education. He was widely respected there and in the wider education community.
I'm also a longtime member of the Littleton church where he was organist. That was before I joined, but I will lift him up in concerns and celebrations. Wish I'd known; we could have talked about music.

I remember many fond memories of John... How he loved my crab dip recipe so much...His gentle manner....times he helped me at the vision resources library in West Biylston ....his graciously welcoming the Central Mass TVIs into your home for a potluck supper gathering...and so many other wonderful memories. May he dance with the angels and play the organ and lead the choir on the other side! He will not be forgotten!
Hugs and love to you Susan.

Dear Sue,
I am so sorry to hear of John's death. What a loss it must be for you. However, while the two of us worked so closely together, I always had the sense that your family was one strong supportive unit. I am sure all of you will continue to be there for each other. Please accept my sympathy and know that prayers are being said for the Stagers down here in Grafton.
As ever,
Mary

My heartfelt condolences to you, Susan, and your family. I worked with John on countless audits and task forces at the Department of Ed. He was the consummate master of turning a difficult concept into a an easily understood idea. He was extraordinarily even-tempered and had a wonderful wry sense of humor. It was a privilege to work with him.

I had the pleasure of working with John for many years at the Massachusetts Department of Education. He was eminently fair, honest and equitable in his relationships.Besides being the 'go to guy' with questions, he had a wickedly wry and dry sense of humor. He was respected by all. I send my condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.
