Joseph O'Brien Obituary

Joseph M. O'Brien, 87, of Medway for 32 years and formerly of West Roxbury, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008. He was the husband of Hazel (Kennedy) O'Brien for the past 37 years.

Before his retirement, Mr. O'Brien worked for most of his life for the City of Boston in the Cemetery Dept. and earlier in the Park & Recreation Dept.

He was a WWII Navy veteran and was a life member of the Medway V.F.W. Post # 1526.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Clare Burdett & her husband, Jayme of Charlton, Margaret Frank & her husband, Steven of Southbridge & Anne Morin & her husband, Christopher of Milford; six grandchildren; two brothers, James of DeMoines, IA & William of Arlington & three sisters, Marguerite O'Shea of Jamaica Plain, Sr. Mary Grace O'Brien of Houston, TX & Kathleen Malone of West Roxbury. He was a brother of the late Marie Olympio & Theresa O'Brien.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, June 21 at 11 a.m. from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, Medway at Noon. Burial St. Joseph's Cemetery, Medway. Calling hours Friday from 4 - 8 p.m.
