I UNDERSTAND THE LOSS THAT YOU MUST FEEL, IT HURTS. NOTHING I COULD SAY OR DO RIGHT NOW WILL EASE THE PAIN. BUT JUST REMEMBER THE JOY YOU'LL HAVE WHEN YOU MEET AGAIN.

Dear Michael:

Superman....where are you now???...can you see the pain consuming my soul...can you hear the tears that fill the night ???...can you fly back to earth & make everything alright ???...Superman, can you whisk us up & rescue us out of death's grip...can you stop bitterness from flowing over this lip???...Superman, why did you leave ???...didn't you know so many would be left here to grieve ???...of course you didn't, for you never knew you were going in the middle of the night...no time to put on your cloak or turn out the light...no time to warn us of your dangerous flight...no time to say "don't cry Nana, I'll be alright...this time I'll make it...only good things are in sight"...no time to say I Love you or hear it said back...for time is the one thing that we now lack...time has run out not one minute more to be...not another day with Nana down by the sea...not a moment on the island or lunch at Linda Jeans...no time to watch you with your little girl helping her fulfill her dreams...time only to ask you to remember me as I will remember you...with love heaped to the mountain top and an everlasting love that will never stop...you knew the deal, we kept it real...as for being proud of you, there MUST be NO doubt....Superman, it's time to hang up your cloak..the danger has past...you're held tightly in the arms of Jesus & Poppa...eternal peace at last....
...I'm so thankful for the close bond & all the pretty deep chats that we've had..I so wish I could have erased your ills but look at it this way...31 years of FREE advice & you've incurred NO BILLS...
I'll the wear the heart you gave me that Christmas long ago ...give your Poppa a big hug for me & tell him his vacation is nearing an end....catch up quickly together as I'll soon be 'round the bend...

Til we meet again dear Grandson...my Superman by name...forever in my broken heart, you will always remain...
Rest at last in Peace dear Michael...

Luv' & Blessin's, Nana

Though our grateful nation mourns with you in your loss, we can only feel a small part of the loss you are experiencing.

Your loved one will always be a part of our country's story. As such, their sacrifice on behalf of our nation will always be honored.

While the process of grieving requires a lot of time and, somehow, is never complete, we will be praying for you and grieving with you.

In deepest sympathy.
