Nancy was born in Auburn, the daughter of David J. and Jane R. (Killerby) Smith. She attended Auburn High School through her junior year and graduated from David Prouty High School, Spencer.

She was retired from Banknorth, Framingham, as a mortgage underwriter and was previously employed by the Spencer Savings Bank and by the Athol Savings Bank as assistant treasurer.

Nancy was an avid quilter and a charter member of the Cornerstone Quilters of Charlton. She was for a brief period a volunteer quilter at Old Sturbridge Village. One of her fondest accomplishments was having given at least one "special" handmade quilt to the household of every family and extended family member.

At Nancy's standing request, there will be no calling hours or formal funeral services. Her ashes will be interred by her family in Evergreen Cemetery, East Brookfield. J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, Spencer, is handling arrangements.

Her family sincerely thanks the Quaboag personnel for the fine care given Nancy over the last two years and for the friendships afforded Dick and other family members.
