Sarah E. "Sally" (Staveley) Leger, 89

GARDNER - Sarah E. "Sally" (Staveley) Leger, 89, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully, Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lowell on January 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Wilford and Sarah Thorne (Hollis) Staveley.

Sally graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1947, and was inducted into the Gardner High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Prior to retiring, she was employed by the City of Gardner as a crossing guard for the Gardner Public Schools. She was also employed by Stanley's Lunch as a waitress.

Sally was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Gardner. She was a former member of the Gardner Women's Golf Association.

She was an exceptional golfer and bowler, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Sally was predeceased by her husband, Norman H. Leger, who died August 13, 1990.

She leaves one son, Glenn N. Leger and his wife Giselle of Gardner; two daughters, Vicki L. Saulnier and her husband William of Templeton, and Kelly A. Boudreau and her husband David of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; seven grandchildren, Wendy Reno and her husband Ryan of Kansas, Tanya Seppa and her husband Eric of Gardner, Heidi Williams and her husband Matthew of Templeton, Tyler Leger and his wife Nydia of Fitchburg, Alison Boudreau and fiancé Joshua Sundquist of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Luke Boudreau of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and Dylan Boudreau of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; seven great-grandchildren, Arianna Leger, Lilu DiSilva, Liam Williams, Aiden Reno, Corinne Reno, Cameron Seppa and Drew Seppa; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Earl, Kenneth and Arthur Staveley; and by one sister, Louise Kulczyk.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours will be held Friday, March 3rd from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
